Purchased around noon with estimated delivery next Saturday, 12/1.

Just got notice that it shipped for delivery Monday 11/26.

I can’t decide whether to open now or Christmas morning!

Apple Music is not required. Streaming from iOS devices and iTunes on MacOS works...

I should have said "in order to have the freedom and flexibility to maximize your HomePod experience, you really need an Apple Music subscription".

We have a beach house and I bring my HomePod with me. It plays Apple Music jazz radio and summer playlists all day long and neither my iPhone or my Mac needs to be there as it entertains relatives in my home while I'm out in the sand.

In our primary estate, I use our Apple TV as the hub to stream Apple Music to my HomePod's, and again, my iPhone and Mac are free to do other things.

Apple Music puts millions of songs on your HomePod without being tethered to an iOS or Mac device which have library size limitations and, of course, is limited by the content you physically own or have purchased on it.

Yep, agree with everything you wrote. There have been a spate of posters claiming all sorts of odd things in regards to HomePod, so I wanted to be clear about it not being required/a prerequisite, so I wanted to lend some clarity to the situation...

I missed B&H HomePod special but I grabbed a BB one. The BB closest to me only had white available. I don't want to wait for them to deliver a black one. So I grabbed the white one. Look at my signature. My better-half said we are divorcing if I buy another Apple gadget when I purchased the iPad earlier this month. So somehow I gotta hide this HomePod LOL!!

Lucky. Mine comes 11/27! I can’t wait to pair them up in stereo!

The Homepod is the one Apple device my wife surprisingly uses daily. Turning on lights, asking for music. Usues it much more than I thought she would.

Ok that's a good idea. Show how it benefits her. Brilliant.

Mine came in today. I ordered Space Grey, received White. Oh well, haven't determined if I am going to return it or not.

Ordered mine from Costco on Thanksgiving for $250 and it arrived Saturday morning. Haven't opened it yet :)

Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday, and when it did not, I called them to check on status. Was told everything is fine, just a backlog due to the busy weekend and that it would arrive tomorrow. At 11.45pm tonight they just emailed me to cancel my order. This tied up my money when I could have purchased somewhere else for at least a discount off the full Apple pricing (Costco was $80 discount). Now everything is back to full rate and I am SOL

There were amazing Black Friday deals in Dubai as well - managed to pick up a white HomePod for AED 999 (~USD 272). I don't use Apple Music, and don't really see the added convenience of using voice commands to play music - I find it easier/faster to simply pick the song/playlist/genre directly from my phone/tablet or computer, so, perfectly happy to use AirPlay 2 to stream Spotify, which is also available in Dubai now. Can't wait to unbox and take it for a spin this weekend!

I got the $249 deal on the Best Buy website Cyber Monday! Never seen the price that low before! Super happy

So did I but they never delivered it and then cancelled my order the day after the sale saying the item was no longer available ?. Do I have a case (not suing anyone) but going in there and making them honor the deal ?

When you ask for a particular artist I’m not sure what HomePod does it seems to pick a album sometimes and just plays it, it doesn’t just shuffle that artists songs

it doesn’t just shuffle that artists songs

Then ask it to? On playlists it definitely does this "hey siri shuffle playlist_name" and it even announces it shuffled the playlist. She doesn't say she shuffled an artist when I just asked, but you can also ask her to shuffle songs as one is playing and she switches...hopefully shuffling and not just skipping.

To get consistency when you just want to hear songs from a particular artist, try saying this:

"Hey Siri, play Bruce Springsteen Essentials." This will bring up an Apple curated playlist of about 50 songs, the most popular hits from radio, all the singles, and tracks determined by Apple stream popularity.

"Hey Siri, play Bruce Springsteen Next Steps." This will bring up an Apple curated playlist of about 50 songs, but now it's not about the big radio hits, it's about favorite album tracks.

Use "Essentials" and "Next Steps" with any artist you like and you'll find the songs that play are very good and well sequenced and not as haphazard as if you just said "Play some Bruce Springsteen".

I’m sure there’s some kind of legal fine print where it says they can cancel the order but it obviously is a pain for you. I’d go in and ask about it. Worst case scenario you’re in the same position you are now. Best case they honor the price and you get what you ordered. Hopefully they do something for you.

I was out walking and was on my phone when I came across this BB deal. I immediately when to the app and ordered two white for pick up at my local store. I figured they were sold out and the inventory just hadn't caught up with the ordering system. But about 2 hours later I got an email message that they were ready for pickup. Then I decided these would make good gifts for a couple of team members. So, I then went online and tried it again, but the store pick up was no longer an option for the space grey, but shipping was. So, I ordered them to be shipped and actually got the shipping notice the next morning and they arrived on Monday Nov 27th which was much quicker than I anticipated. I see they shipped from a store about 3 hours away. Love these HomePod's. I need to take these to the office and get them wrapped before my other half opens them and set them up in the living room. She's been trying to talk me into keeping them. LOL

The $250 Black Friday Best Buy deal was supposed to come with 3 months free Apple Music according to the Best Buy product page and cart.

I didn’t receive any paperwork attesting to this in the shipment and I don’t know how to get the three free months added to my existing Apple Music account. Does anyone know how we are supposed to go about applying this offer?

I received an email with instructions from Best Buy. It doesn’t work if you already have a subscription though.
