Best Buy Pre Order for Series 4 Apple Watch?

Never bought any pre-orders of apple products from Best Buy before, but the one I wanted wasn't showing up on Verizononline early Friday.
Will BB show when the watch will be shipped or only when it is shipped ? Site says will let you know when shipped!!
 
I just chatted with a rep and I was told that the computers are 1-2 days behind on shipping dates. Take this for what it’s worth. I was told release day for mine even when mine showed that well let you know.

When did you place your order?

As per the website, some of the aluminum models can still be ordered for release day.

That’s what I ordered yesterday.

Yes, as per the website, you can order that to pick up at your local store on release day. However, the website wasn't saying that yesterday.

Best Buy handles pre-orders for other things like game consoles and games correctly so I suspect what it shows is correct. Unless they introduced some new code on their site now.
 
This is my 1st time using Best Buy (BB) instead of Apple for the Apple Watch. I ordered a Apple - Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS), 44mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Loop - Space Gray Aluminum on Saturday, Sept 15th. BB is reporting Friday, Sept 21st as my delivery date. BB has already charged my credit card.

I did originally place an order with Apple but the earliest I would get the Apple Watch was late October. I cancelled that order and went with BB.

Did it always show 9/21 or did it display the “we’ll let you know when it ships”

Yesterday, it only said what the second one says: "We'll notify you when it's ready to ship." I checked and made sure they all said the same yesterday. The message changed sometime between last night and this morning.

That is just an authorization on the credit card. They don’t charge until the item ships. It is a little fishy that days after the start of the pre order, they still show some configurations as being available on launch day. I will keep my fingers crossed. I never had an issue with Best Buy before.
 
Then I suppose I was incorrect. My apologies. But it only shows that with certain watches.

I did a preorder, and it charged my card immediately. I ended up canceling; if they can't give me a ship date, then they can't have my money.
 
I'm not holding my breath I will get my AW on Friday. I suspect the date may slip into next week. That's fine with me. It's not the end of the world 🙂 It's better than the late October timeframe Apple provided me.

That's makes sense it's an authorization on the credit card.

I attempted to order the watch below at my local AT&T Store on Saturday, 15th, and they were unable to preorder any of the SS phones. I had seen the watch available for preorder that morning, but needed to pay off my old watch before I could order it. They said that AT&T only gets a limited quantity of the SS watches....very limited......so that meant that the SS preorders had all been spoken for. They had no idea when they would be available again. That sounds like what happened at Best Buy.
So I just paid off the old watch and then went home and preordered the watch from the Apple Store online, although I had to pay for it outright. You can see that it will take 3-4 weeks to ship, which, I imagine, will be similar to the Best Buy availability for future orders.

I just bought a watch online from BB, it let me choose a store to pick it up on 9/21. I am guessing that may not be accurate. Hopefully they can make it.
 
I spoke with BB about AW online order. I didn't get any additional details than what I see online. The BB CSR states I should get my AW on Friday, Sept 21st.

My spidey sense tells me BB will ship the orders after release day - Sept 21st. If that holds true, I would expect my AW to be delivered the week of Sept 24th.

What does your order status show on the website/app? I'm still seeing "We'll let you know when it ships.", which doesn't fill me with optimism.

I just checked their website and the space gray 44mm is still showing as available for receipt on the 21st. All of the Nike+ are showing as available on launch day as well.
