Ahem...macbook collector's edition.Only plain jane macbook with a backlit keyboard.
Still a pretty usable machine.
I received $660 for my aluminum uni-body "macbook". This model was before they all went to mackbook pros.
I purchased two MBA, an 11' and 13". The sale prices were cheaper than the $50 that Apple gives for the education discount. I received $100 BB gift card on the first laptop and used that to buy the second laptop. I walked out of the store with the other $100 BB gift card that I will use on my iPhone 5 in September!
I exchanged my 13" the next day for another 11" and just love it!
Mine still works great. I will be getting 2GB RAM more soon (4GB total) and do a fresh install when I get Lion. As much as I would LOVE to have a new Air, I just can't justify it when this one works so great.
$425.83 for (MC503LL/A)If you have a recent Mac, apple's recycling is giving a better option (via POWER on)

I recently bought a MBP 13" inch base model (paid $999 - ebay bucks from Macmall). I am thinking of upgrading it to a MBA 13" (mainly for Screen resolution), they are giving $814. If you don't want to go thru the hassle of ebay/craiglist and want to upgrade to a new model, its not a bad option.
what year and model was the macbook?

Hmm, they only want to give me 502.00 gift card value for a 2.26 Unibody Macbook Pro with 2GB ram and 160 HDD. How'd you get so much for a Macbook? Weird...

The thing is stupid with amount of RAM and processor speed. I'm not complaining, I've got a 2.4ghz C2D Macbook from early 2008, and the Best Buy Website is giving me 560 for it.
The best I could have hoped for was around 400, so I'm definitely going to best buy, even though I'd rather have an i7. Maybe I can try to hustle the MBA on ebay and use that money to buy from the Apple Store.
Nah, there's no way I'd want to let go of a MBA once I got my hands on it >.<
Yes, the way the trade in choices are set up is not apples to apples. This is only a great deal for those with higher specs. It does not even ask how old it is, just the specs!
This sounds like an opportunity to play BB like a stock market. Find old MPs (or whatever) on CL and trade them in for much more than you paid.
I just called two stores here in Wisconsin, and both of them said that their website was wrong. They will only take laptops/tablets/etc in-store if they were purchased originally through Best Buy. If you didn't purchase from Best Buy, you have to send it in. No idea on how long the turn around is from sending it in to receiving the gift cards back.
So now I'm going to do nothing. After reading the Anandtech review--I'm really thinking that I'm going to end up doing a BTO 11.6" i7 128GB.
My best buy told me the same thing, but the phone rep from tradein said thy should of. Oh well I already shipped mine which they got Tuesday. I'll report once they gave their decision.
As for the 11" if you don't mine the heat, you are good to go. But many others have complained about the heat in the i7. Especially in the smaller of the two MBA.
What did you trade in? I'm not too worried about the heat--I'm more so worried about making the right choice. I'm still up in the air between the 13" or the 11".
Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The 11" would be a true ultra-portable--it would basically go with me everywhere. The 13" has better screen real estate, battery life; it has a SD card slot. Downside is I'd be stuck with an i5--I cannot swing the extra cash for a 256 GB SSD. Then again, according to the anandtech review--it's only ~8% upgrade to go into the i7 at that level. Switching into the i7 at the 11" wouldn't cost me as much--and it would give me a great performance boost...
Oh the decisions to make... >.<
A 2006 black MacBook. It has 4gb, 250hd and all the original accessories. Everything working and in great condition for $560. Let's see if it comes true or not.
As for the MBA. That's a tough one. I prefer the 13" over 11". I have to have 256 ssd. The only question is to keep the i7 or i5 like my wife which ones alot cooler. After the reviews 8% might not be worth it for warmer MBA.
Yea... So what's your 560 going to become?? Seeings how you already have two MBA's!
Your Best Buy let you do a trade in? I went to mine and it's on their list and they didn't accept it. They said it's only online. I think they just didn't know how to do it.![]()
