Doesn't anyone still make the simple, black belt-clip holster cases, like those that came with the 3G iPods? Something elegant and simple like that is all I want.

ya, i think i know what your talking about because i have it. i have the dlo black case for my ipod. it was 30 bucks, so it isnt so bad. u spend the same for this as any other one. i recomend it. its pretty good because you can attach it to your belt. heres the link for it. i got mine at circuit city for 30. http://www.dlo.com/Products/AJ_Prod.tpl

my bro has a 60gb ipod, but he has a differnet case. i like his more than mine though because if he dropps his, it is probably gonna be better than mine being dropped. heres the page for it...

i like his more because it looks awesome, but u decide

I'll be getting the evo3 case, (a new case from iSkin) in a few days... It looks pretty promising with its full frontal plastic cover that claims to not slide around. I heard thats its not too compatible with itrip, but i'm not too worried about that since I dont use one, although I am kind of worried about the hold button cover.

Im getting the clear (arctic) one for my 30gb black iPod, I'll try to post some pictures once I get it.

@those people who've bought the agent 18 videoshield - Im guessing it can, but does the bottom connector still fit? I'm going to be getting the radio remote and obviously it's a bit pointless if i have to take the case off every time.

better

Hey guys, I was wondering which one would be better the speck toughskin or the iskin evo3. I work on a farm so I need to not only protect it from physical damage, but also from alot of dirt, hay, sweat etc..

Thx

I have a Belkin Kickstand and its great. Screen and wheel protector makes it nice and its great material. Also they dont call it the kickstand for nothing... U can prop it up nicley on your desk for maximum pleasure

The evo3 will be the best protection against dirt, hay, etc. It totally seals all parts of the iPod except for the headphone jack and it still works with a dock - unlike the Toughskin. If I had to choose between the two I would go with the evo3

I have had the Agent 18 for about a month now. Yes, the bottom is open for the cable to attach to the iPod. The bottom is also open enough (as is the hold switch area) for lint, etc. from your pockets to get into. This means that you'll have to open it once in awhile to clean it out and because of the tight fit any debris can and will scratch the face of your iPod. My suggestion is to get the Invisible Shield or another clear shield before you put your iPod into any case.

As far as the Agent 18 scratch resistance goes - eh, not so good. After about a month the face of mine is pretty scratched up from zipper rub and being in a pocket with keys for a few days. It will scratch but at least the scratches are not that noticeable when the backlight is on.

All in all I was a fan of the Agent 18 for a month or so. I think I'm ready to switch from an Agent 18 to either a evo3 or a vaja case. Whatever I go with I plan to cover the screen portion of the case with some kind of clear film.

After getting frustrated with my Agent 18 face scratches and inability to dock the iPod I switched to the eVo3. Fantastic case. The plastic doesn't scratch up from use hardly at all in comparison with the Agent 18. Although the silicone picks up dust the iPod itself is totally sealed off (except headphone jack) from the outside world. Best part is that it fits perfectly in Apple's Universal dock with no adapters in it. I'm very happy with the eVo3 so far.

the agent 18 case isnt that great..

okay ive had the new ipod video since the end of last november and finally was able to get the case i ordered for it in the mail a month later.
agent18 ..and i find it hard to believe that hardly anyone who owns it has made any comments like the one im about to make.

Basically, the dock connecter side is fully exposed, as is the top of the case where the hold button and headphone jack is located. Scratching is inevitable, and i could live with some scratches in those areas to a certain extent.

But for the money spent on the ipod, the case doesnt cut it in my opinion. The open areas in the case allows dirt and tiny pieces of debris inside to the area the "shield" claims to protect. i have removed the ipod from the case several times just to remove dirt, etc to prevent scratching. (and i have left the factory screen protector on)

sorry for the already long post but i havent finished yet..

there is no belt clip that comes with it, and the easy to snap on and off case scares the **** out of me b/c i know i will drop it one day, and i highly doubt the ipod, much less the case, would survive w/out much harm.

i recently did some research..the only case that appears the most drop-proof, waterproof, etc is the Otterbox. the problem with that is you would have to open/remove (?) the case to charge and use the new radio transmitters. i havent seen the case in stores, so i cant be certain of that feature.

personally what i want in a case is as drop proof as possible, airtight to protect from moisture, sand/grit, etc. my boyfriend has an amazing ipod case (4th gen.) he has dropped numerous times on concrete, its similar to an otterbox but not the same. the case has no openings for the port, etc BUT has a snap on/off henge to allow access without opening the actual case. is there anything else like an otterbox out in the market, similar to that case i just mentioned??

once again..sorry for the long post. i hope someone can offer input!
thanks-:D

you should look into the Otterbox. it claims to be waterproof up to 10 feet, therefore no dirt should be able to enter easily, plus its drop-proof. im actually considering buying it. its 50 bucks for the new ipod video ipod. less for the smaller ipods

go to otterbox.com

case compatibility with armbands?? with invisible shield??

New 30GB Video iPod on the way & I'm deep into case obsession.

Was considering the Invisible Shield, but got nervous after I read their disclaimer that says:

"Please be aware that certain rubberized or plastic electronics cases may adhere to your invisibleSHIELD, and may be difficult or damaging to remove."

I want to be able to put it into another case for shock protection, so this was a real turnoff.

I'm seriously considering the eVo3, but I'm wondering if I get that (or another similar silicone case) will the iPod still fit into my Xtrememac Sportwrap, or will it be impossible to use them together. If so, what case would allow me to still use a sports armband, while giving great protection?

Thanks,
T

Xtreme Mac!

I personally love the cases Xtreme Mac offers, and I got this case for my black 30GB iPod, and I picked it up @ the Apple Store! It feels great, doesn't make the iPod too chunky, and has a screen protector. Maybe I'm crazy for not wanting clear, but I like the way it looks too. :)
As far as clear goes, I'm in love with the good old Agent 18 video shield. I spent probably 15min. standing and staring at the Tuffwrap Accent and the Agent 18 case at the Apple Store. I almost considered asking one of the dudes that works there for advice:eek: , but I eventually just bit the bullet and went and bought the Tuffwrap.:)

If you are searching solely for scratch protection, I beg you to get the InvisibleShield. It's amazing... I put mine on a few months ago and my ipod still looks brand new after much abuse! Once it dries, I think it actually looks GREAT... keeps the chromed back look nice and shiny and the front glossy. Installation is arduous, but it is something anyone can do. It's an awesome investment!

Well, I'm getting my Video iPod probably at the end of school (I'm in high scohol), and I'm getting the iTrip LCD (For 5G) and iFM. I saw that IS video, thats AMAZING. But how hard is it to apply? I had a horrible time getting a screen protector onto my PSP, no air bubbles.

But how hard is it? I'm not good with perfection.

Also, should I buy any other case? I saw one of those Vaja cases or whatever, AMAZING. But expensive, out of my budget ...
