lol good times.probably not the best choice but a very interesting one nonetheless
Google Earth actually has a built in flight simulator. i think that its very interesting to see google doing something like this. they even allow joystick control.
like i said, probably not the best choice, but a very interesting one indeed.
Interesting read as I want a flight game too. My problem is that I care not for realism as long as I can dog fight and free fly causing mayhem in anything from a Fokker DR1 to a Mig29...... any ideas on that kind of game for MAC OS X 10.5 on intel?
X-Plane 11 is out and an AWESOME improvement. But something still keeps pulling me back to Flight Simulator X (Steam Edition). Patiently awaiting Dovetail Games "Flight Simulator" that is based on FSX.
thanks for thatI love to play War Thunder. It is a very realistic WW-2 style dogfighting game, and its free. You can play as tanks too, which while planes are dogfighting, planes can swoop down and destroy tanks, AAA's, AA's, Artilleries, and many more things. Naval Battle should be coming in January of 2017. If you want the realism of a cockpit, just hit 'v' and you will see it through your cockpit. But, continue hitting v if you want a gunners view or something that makes dogfighting easier. Good luck, I hope you enjoy!

(The download button will automaticly detect your system)
You can also get it on Steam.
IF you don't want anything realistic, try Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer. It is a free to play fun game where you fly fighter jets as well as interact with Chuck Yeager (The first pilot to break the sound barrier)! http://www.myabandonware.com/game/chuck-yeagers-advanced-flight-simulator-1t2
Happy flying,

I'm afraid X-Plane 11 will be an even greater burden on the hardware on PC or Mac than X-Plane 10 already is.
Even now my 4 GB VRAM is easily exceeded with some huge 3rd party sceneries (like the pay ware New York city, orthophotos, with the 3 major airports loaded).... and that is not with all settings maxed out (not even close...).
I have one of those; there hasn't been a working driver for it since OS X 10.10.5. I've used the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X with later versions of macOS, and it's worked well. What Joysticks work with X-Plane 11? I've had a Saitek Cyborg 3D since the 90's and nothing seems to work with it. Too bad, it's a nice stick. Any ideas?

Yes, there needs to be an OS level driver. The Saitek used to just use Apple's built in support which worked fine but starting with 10.11, that stopped working so X-plane can't be used with that hardware. As I recall, X-Plane offers the ability to remap controls by simply pressing the joystick input you want in the control section of the game. But doesn’t there have to be something in the MacOS that allows the game and joystick to communicate with each other or is that strictly between the game and the stick?
So which brand joysticks still work on Mac, I wonder?Yes, there needs to be an OS level driver. The Saitek used to just use Apple's built in support which worked fine but starting with 10.11, that stopped working so X-plane can't be used with that hardware.
The one I mentioned in my post about the Saitek works fine. There are many others that work but I don't know which they are.So which brand joysticks still work on Mac, I wonder?
I have a Logitech Extreme 3D pro which works splendidly with X-plane 11.So which brand joysticks still work on Mac, I wonder?
