It is... I just Googled it. I think its the third or fourth result down. The NewEgg link.

Oh cool one of my buddies actually told me bout it but I ignored him guess he was right after all!!!

Be sure your mobo has either dual or triple channel. Depending on that depends your choice of RAM.

I will take triple channel but the RAM I selected (12GB DDR3)is also triple channel so that means all parts are compatible now right?

I'll tell you this much... that board is bandwidth starved. Also, triple channel is supported only on X58 boards. The board you gave me (ASUS P8P67 PRO) is a dual channel only board. This means only 4 GB(4x1GB; 2x2GB), 8 GB(4x2GB; 2x4GB) and 16GB (4x4GB) memory combinations work. Unless you go with 12GB(2x4GB + 2x2GB)

Key: X GB (Z x T GB)
-- Where:
---- X = total amount of RAM
---- Z = RAM slots used
---- T = RAM module capacity

Bare in mind that motherboard as only 4 modules.

Aghhhhhhhh my first build and so many things to consider Im just gonna ask you what mother board is compatible with the 12 GB RAM.Also do philips screwdrivers need to be purchased or do they come free with the case?

Like I said, depends on the board. Screws? They must come with the case, unless you use a cardboard box as a case, in which case you'll need tape (duct or office). Seriously, what you really need to look for when buying cases is motherboard risers. If it doesn't have, don't buy it.

No offence intended OP but it really sounds like some research would help you.

This as well. Go over the falcon guide. Use my thread as a guide as well. Look over NewEgg for motherboards and CPUs that match. Look at the details of which part. Same for RAM.

Building a computer is like putting a Lego robot/train/house/etc together. Just follow the manual and look that piece fits.

OK using your guide now thanks everyone for your help!!!!

Like for example the 13 inch 2011 macbook pros are daul core so each core supports 4GB of RAM which is why it only supports 8 GB of ram while you can get 16 gig of ram in 15 inch MBP since it has 4 cores so is this true:confused:

There's no such thing as a RAM per core limit. Just check if you have dual (2 or 4 sticks of RAM) or triple channel (3 or 6 sticks of RAM). What mobo/RAM are you getting?

Ok well I'm assuming that's triple channel, so just make sure your mobo supports triple channel RAM.

yeah it is but the problem I had was before, was that the mobo and cpu weren't compatible but when the mobo was compatible ram was not compatible looks like research is required!!!

It seems there aren't any triple channel 1155 mobos yet.

well thats alright i guess because I might buy a 120GB solid-state so it won't have much effect any way right?

Effect on what? You wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between dual and triple channel anyway, especially considering the rest of your specs. The SSD is going to make things noticeably faster though
