Hi all,
I'm looking for a screen protector for my 5, but I only need it to have minimal scratch resistance, very thin and not alter the appearance and sensitivity of the phone. I already have a pouch/sleeve that protects the phone 99% of the time, and at most, I've only suffered light scratching in the past.
something cheap and thin is what I was looking for... Almost like cling film, but with a bit more protection.

Can anyone make any recommendations?

Thanks.

Thanks. That was one of the ones I was looking at. I was also considering the "Best skins ever" as they have a matte skin for the back, and a glossy skin for the front.

Is the Tech Armour thick? It seems a bit thicker, and I'd really like it to be as thin as possible.

Thanks.

It is very thin! It works great. Can go wrong with 6$.

I've been putting the Halo Matte on everything lately. Never gonna get another screen protector. Even if you don't think one is crucial for safety, the anti-glare and anti-fingerprint makes it SO MUCH EASIER to use the phone outside during daylight.

Slapped on a feather+ by mime yesterday. It feels great, looks great. I even like the feel of the rounded edge around the touch id home button. It's only 0.15mm, and has 9H hardness. Also, great service (managed to install my first one the wrong way, and they just wanted a picture and a explanation, and then they gave me a coupon code with a total of the glass price, basicly free new feather+).

There are so many screen protectors out there. I have been using a powersupport hd antiglare because I hate finger prints and swirls of oil. These keep getting scratched in some way so I decided just to try something different. Went with a spigen slim nano tr since it's highly praised around here. I am sure there are new advancements and products, but wow. It's like a member described it here once - like turning on the lights or something. No fingerprints, minimal swirls, manageable glare. Most of all feels wonderful to the touch. Very happy.

I've been using the Feather+ for a few weeks now and really like it. This is my first glass protector so I don't really have a basis for comparison but I've been 100% satisfied with the Feather+. The .15mm thickness is great, I wouldn't even know it is on there if I hadn't installed it myself. The oleophobic coating works well. I'll never buy a protector without it after seeing how well it performs. And the install went great with the included anti-dust pre-installation film.

I always put Best Skins Ever on my devices. I've been using them for many years.

Has anyone of you guys used the Belkin InvisiGlass?

http://www.belkin.com/uk/F8W355-Belkin/p/P-F8W355/

My husband and I both have it on our iPhones. It's the only screen protector I have left on my phone! I usually rip off the film type in a month or less. The Belkin InvisiGlass is like you don't have anything on screen. Granted mine has tiny surface scratches on it that you can only see when the phone is off and in certain light. I wouldn't use anything else!

What about the tech 21 shield, where it's 3 layers? Anyone have experience with that? Was thinking of a screen protector with the impact mesh

Better have scratches on the protector instead of the screen I guess!

I got the Zagg glass one today. It's smooth and totally clear but I just don't know if I really like it! I'm sure some will think I'm crazy!!!

Where did you get Zagg Glass? I've been waiting to see it available on heir website and it still says it hasn't been released yet. Does the glass have the same lifetime warranty as their other protectors?

At Best Buy and the guy said it has lifetime warranty. It's on Best Buys web site.

I am looking at the Zagg as well, what are the thoughts? I want front and back protectors that will fit in the Lifeproof Frē case and a battery case.

i bought a screen protector called anti-crack which is all glass and no reduce in the color contrast also protects against the cracks in the original screen it workds for both iphone 5 and iphone 5s.

If it has happened 3 times I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the screen protector. We saw this a lot with the Galaxy S3, the screens just weren't completely flat. It happens and I'm really not sure there is anything you can do unfortunately.

That won't go away...Is it a glass protector? If it is you're screwed because it won't lay back down. You need to call and have it replaced as it's a flaw in the adhering layer. I had it happen with my glassT. It will grow larger over time. Mine was perfect the day I put it on then a few days later a small spot started near that same area and continued to get bigger and bigger.

**The more I look the it appears it's NOT glass. Only thing I think can help is a very very good cleaning with etoh pads before placing protector. Good luck..... OR get a nice glass protector. I have used several but am using iLoome flex now and have a Mime waiting in the wings.

I have the Spigen glass tr nano slim. Absolutely love it. Easiest install I ever had for any screen protector and fits well with my defender.

Ditto. Just got this. I had the ghost glass before and a bodyguardz pure glass. The thinness is amazing. The pure on a regular 5 button feels like how the feather is on the 5s. I think over 0.3mm may feel too deep with a 5s. I was considering the iloome flex but opted for mime for the replacements and harder glass.
very happy with Bodyguardz Pure glass on my 5, after 1 1/2 y looks absolutely perfect!
ordered replacement (good deal for $12.95 w FS) for my new 5s but I'm a little worried about Home button might be too deep. Is there anything better in glass?

I just got the zagg glass. Super pleased with the look and feel. Although I woke up this AM to see on the edge a flake of glass and pulled it and it now looks like it was chipped. Might try and go back to bestbuy and exchange it out.

Glass Screen protection

I've mentioned this to a few other people but here is what you need to worry about with glass (Full disclosure I work for BodyGuardz).

1. Impact protection

Glass screen protection can actually help save your device from impact and shock. If scratch protection is all you're looking for and impact protection isn't a concern, any glass should do.

2. Whether the edges are beveled/rounded or not.

The chipping you're describing is common with glass that features a rounded edge. Reason being the process for creating a beveled/rounded edge requires polishing or grinding down of the edge which creates micro-fractures invisible to the naked eye. This weakens the glass considerably around the edge. In side impact testing I've yet to find a rounded edge product that performs on par with a naturally healed edge.

I hope this helps and I hope you get it exchanged with no problems - that sucks.

I'm really glad you're happy with Pure. We've put a considerable amount of energy and research into finding the best glass product available. To answer your question - I haven't found anything yet.
