This thing is way too chunky for pants pockets but according to rumors should be fairly thin so should be interesting

Not having a black colour option makes sense now, because it may confuse the user as to which side is the touchscreen.

Wow now that makes perfect sense especially were you to grab it from
The bottom away from the camera bump…hmmm…

Another flop

Keep dreamin, this thing may not sell gangbusters but it’ll def do better than air I think…it’s too novel for Apple users and the influencers/ trendsetters

Definitely feels like a typical first generation Apple product. Expect V2 to be dramatically better and feel like what Apple should have initially launched with imo.

Sonny Dickson today shared detailed images of a foldable iPhone dummy unit with what appears to be a finalized design, providing the best look yet at the device's look, with the suggestion that the device may only be available in white.

Dummy units are non-functional units intended primarily for display purposes and accessory manufacturers, who need a high level of physical accuracy to mass produce cases and other accessories ahead of a device's announcement. Dickson first shared early-production dummy models of the foldable iPhone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in April, providing the first real visual confirmation of the foldable's passport-style form factor.

The latest foldable iPhone dummy is markedly more detailed than those that have previously circulated. Earlier this week, the leaker known as "Ice Universe" shared what appeared to be an image of a white foldable iPhone dummy, but Dickson's unit offers a substantially clearer view of the design and display.

First look at the iPhone Fold dummy unit. It doesn't look like Apple will offer multiple colors, with white currently appearing to be the only option. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/olMzm6t6Ts— Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) June 7, 2026

The images align with the wider body of design rumors accumulated so far. The device is expected to feature a book-style, passport-shaped design with a 4:3 aspect ratio, wider than it is tall and unlike any foldable currently on the market, with a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner OLED panel that would make it just slightly smaller than the iPad mini when open.

Rumors point to an ultra-thin 4.5mm titanium frame, with volume buttons relocated to the top edge of the device, no Action Button, Touch ID in place of Face ID, and a horizontal dual-camera array on the back in an iPhone Air-style camera plateau.

The latest dummy models reveal several new design aspects, such as the fact that the cover display will be edge-to-edge and slightly curved at the edges, the camera flash will be located below the rear microphone in the camera plateau, the rear microphone has a new design consisting of five drilled holes, and the front-facing camera on the inner display is located on the top left. This will almost certainly have implications for the Dynamic Island.

On the device's color, Dickson's observation corroborates a report from Friday, in which the Weibo leaker known as "Instant Digital" suggested that there may be no black finish, with white potentially being the only option. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple planned to avoid bold colors and stick to traditional finishes.

It is worth noting that several new high-end products such as the Apple Watch Ultra and Vision Pro only launched with one color option. The approach would be broadly consistent with how Apple has handled generationally significant launches before. The iPhone X debuted in November 2017 in just two colors, Silver and Space Gray, at a then-record starting price of $999. The iPhone XS that followed a year later added Gold to the lineup, and Apple may take the same incremental approach with the iPhone Ultra over time.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be announced in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, at a starting price Gurman says will cross the $2,000 threshold.

Love the design 🥰🥰🥰 and the white color is so perfect 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️ cannot wait to get it

iPhone 18 Pro Max will sell 10x more
The iPhone Fold is very awkward size and very expensive and maybe also fragile while using the inner display. Way too many problems because the outer display is also awkward when it’s closed due to being too wide while short in height. The 18 Pro Max is the perfect size.
BUT
The iPhone Fold would been an excellent iPad Mini replacement tho. It makes way more sense.
And you’re a clairvoyant?
10% of iPhone users stated they are interested in buying one.
You do the math

With every leak I want one less and less.

I'm willing to eat my words but I physically see no way they can get rid of the crease in full. By definition if the crease bothers you when it's prominent, it'll bother you when it's "barely" there.

It will flop. It will sell like the Air or worse. This flop will be industry changing because it will lead to the demise of folding phones.

🤣 you are joking. The folding phone industry is doing quite well. I’m personally not sold on owning one yet however Samsung and Google sell them and keep making them. Once Apple enters the market, it’s likely that they will become more mainstream. Sure the first gen price wont be very appealing, but many people pay on a contract for their phones and some carries will probably subsidise them.

iPhone 18 Pro Max will sell 10x more

Apple would be ecstatic if it did that well. If it sold 1/100th of the Pro Max they would be skipping down the halls of Apple Park.

Design is fugly as hell and No face id it's gonna flop like iPhone Air another fails from tim cook before stepdown from CEO

Really hope John Ternus change their team hardware

You think Ternus had zero input into the Air and the "fold"?

I still cannot fathom apple making this. it's a compromise of tablet and phone. I don't like foldable devices anyways. They always have issues. This will be no different.

People said the same about why Apple would want to make a "phat phone" when the first plus-size Galaxies launched from Samsung. Now "phat phones" are the only size category that sells in both iOS and Android.

I do not expect that trajectory to happen with foldable phones, but even with the abject failures of other OEMs initial model launches, they have not gone away and more and more companies are entering the market. Apple failing to do so just leaves money on the table and could create the impression amongst some that Apple/iOS is falling behind Android.

It will flop. It will sell like the Air or worse. This flop will be industry changing because it will lead to the demise of folding phones.

I expect it to "flop", but it will add momentum to the folding phone market. And as Apple and other OEMs continue to iterate on the form factor, it will only continue to build momentum.

It would be hard for me to adjust to a fold considering there’s no action button.
I have my action button programmed to play/pause and use it all the time.

I’ll reserve judgement until I hold one in person…. But initial thoughts are that it seems like an awkward size. Either way I’m not interested in a fold, I’ll be waiting for the iPhone 20….. but very curious to see how this does. Hope it’s not another overpriced flop like AVP
My biggest problem is I want it to be bigger when open. I feel like it will be barely bigger than the 18 Pro Max. Maybe more usable one handed when folded. That might be the use case that people end up wanting most. And perhaps makes Apple create just the front half version.

It looks small enough for jacket or coat pockets, but if the dummy is accurate with the length of the cameras, they're going to catch on the lip. Theoretically there could be a case design to compensate, but it'd be needlessly thick on the non-camera side unless you didn't care about lying it flat..

It won't flop cuz it's the latest iPhone and people will feel amazing to show it off sitting on the metro like "damn, this person got the brand new 2k iPhone!" just like it's not cool to have anything but the iPhone Pro cuz having only 1 or 2 lenses screams POOOOOOR
