I should add that MR First Couple (e and blue) have (or, had) themed avatars that would change in unison and somehow be related and witty. I liked that. It was sweet, and subtle.

I think there used to be an avatar competition. iBlue ran it I think. Could be wrong though.

Nah, I entered one a while back but I never ran them myself. I've made a few avatars for people here though.

I'm on a colourful theme at the moment. It's compensating for the often grey skies in Britain.


Any avatar with an amusing cat photo is sure to be one of my favourites. Jessica.'s previous "ball licker" avatar especially, partly because it sparked a hilarious conversation about it being "obscene". I always like Q's avatars because there is always a Q in there somewhere. Yellow's avatars are almost always amusing. And I like OutThere's new spinning record 'tar.

I agree with Melrose. e and iBlue are the best avatar duo.


My favourites were rdowns' previous (and very long-term) avatar with the blue panties.

I also love SilentPanda's avatar.



And thanks to whoever said they liked my avatar. Funny, because my current avatar isn't even my favourite one that I've used. My fave was the close-up of the cow's face, but I think a few long-time MR members said (e.g. BV, Doctor Q) liked my "WTF?" llama photo, as well as my "WTF?" dog.

If it is within physical and file size limits, you place it the same way you do any other avatar.

You can use Adobe Flash to create a sequence of images and then go to File>Export>Export Movie and choose Animated GIF as the format.
