Note, I don't believe this is worldwide.

In the US, it's pretty standard for retailers to have extended returns during holidays to account for Christmas gifts, etc, so Apple follows suit. Apple posts the return policy and period on the US website.

Looks like I will have to check with SG website then?

Also I do recall Amazon US having this policy too even when the items are sent to SG

Thanks for the details, I'll check with them when I can but in the mean time, do you (or anyone here) have a URL to Apple's website pointing out this policy? Just in case I need to show them e.t.c.

Usually on their main page they will show when it goes into affect. Im in the US and was told yesterday IF they do it this year they will post it around November 15th(In 2016 it was November 10th) either way I think for me will buy it from best buy since their return policy is now January 27th(For elite members)

The holiday policy is pretty standard across retailers. I know Targets policy started November 1 and goes up until a few weeks past New Years. That’s some nice flexibility.

I have a Target Red Card and lately they've been giving me three months on all my purchases.

I wont be buying the ipad pro from Target. Had a really bad experience with them last year with the previous ipad Pro. Picked up in store, first one was defective after 2 weeks, went back and got a 2nd one, after a month it went bad..took it to Apple, they said they can replace it with a "Recertified one" I said forget that, took it back to Target and got a full refund. Maybe they got a bad batch at that particular store but wont be dealing with them again not for something that expensive

Thanks, this gives me another way of checking this out, let me confirm

It sounds to me like your experience at Target was ideal. They let you return the item twice without hassle. They play no part in the quality control of what you buy from Apple. That's all on Apple. Target just gives me the peace of mind to know that I can return whatever I bought without a hassle.

True, well the 2nd return was a bit of a hassle since I did everything online but yes they took it back..for Target using a red card I believe its 60 days, just play around with it everyday and if you notice anything that looks like it might be defective, don't risk it, just exchange it

Thx for reminding me about B&H, bought from them before & had forgotten about the tax free bonus of living outside of NY state.

I ordered my iPad from Costco yesterday but the Pencil 2 on Apple's store isn't shipping until 24th-27th. I just placed a second Pencil 2 order at BHPhoto -- hopefully that one ships sooner and is tax free. :)

I think I’m gonna order through Costco instead and cancel my Apple edu order.

Another benefit of ordering from Costco:
For COMPUTERS, TELEVISIONS and PROJECTORS, Costco extends the MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY to two years from date of purchase. Please call Costco Concierge Technical Support @ 1-866-861-0450 for warranty assistance.

How do you get an educational discount at BH Photo? Is there a link you need to follow? Or an email you need to send?

to get the discount you have to chat with a specialist on their site. it’s very quick and painless, they ask for the url of the dicosunted product and then will grant you the discount you don’t even need to show any proof of edu.

If there is a problem with it why return it to Target? Just take it to Apple and they will inspect it and warranty it with a new iPad. If you don't like it and you return that is one thing, but if it is defective Apple is great at helping out. Poor stores these days have their return policies taken advantage off and makes it worse for everyone else eventually. Sad....

Lol. I mean, I've ways felt the general 14 day no questions you get from Apple / BestBuy was generous! You should know within two weeks wether you want to keep or not right?
That's funny because I know within one day that I will not own a 2018 iPad Pro. My 10.5, 256GB iPad Pro from last year is perfect...and paid for! Apple has lost their mind with their pricing on these new iPads so I'm keeping my hard-earned coin in my pocket this go-round. Of course, you could probably call me a hypocrite because I just ordered a new "overpriced" 2018 MacBook Air. Need to get my head examined, I guess.

BH has long been my favorite resource for photo gear. Anyway, when I put an iPad in my cart this morning, tax was added. I live in WA state. I think laws recently changed for mail order companies, and it's no longer tax free. May depend on the recipient's state of residence though.

EDIT: Was curious so just contacted them via chat about this, and here's what I learned. I assume that other states will probably follow, since he told me "most" states were covered by the new ruling:

Abraham D: Based on a June 2018 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, [Washington state] (And most other states)
is now requiring out of state sellers to collect sales tax. As a result, B&H has begun
to collect sales tax on shipments to Washington state on [October 16th]. 6 States started on Tuesday Oct 16th (12:01am): Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota, Washington (state), and Wisconsin

No, you have to read the fine print on the Costco extended warranty for technology purchases. It specifically excludes touchscreen tablets. The exact wording on their site is:

*Excluding Touchscreen Tablets.

Makes it pretty clear that an iPad does not get the extension to 2 years. I plan on taking mine into the Apple store as soon as it arrives and adding Apple Care.
