peace.

btw- thanks iGav and cb911. :)

thanks for keeping this thread alive iGAV, almost all of the URLs listed are in a "ThinkTank" bookmark folder in my bookmarks bar. here are my biased partisan reviews that i hope to add to this thread for those who need a quick motion effect fix:

this site is a nightmare, but the showreel squeezed in so much video+graphics work that it'll keep ideas flowing.

a plain and simple site. the vector work and the intro animation are jaw dropping, with rag doll physics to grab attention; the afro-clad character is awe-inspiring. it finally got me out of my rut and gave me a great idea for my reel.

here's my contribution:
mr.edgar

the guy is a director genius. check out the rollover when you place your cursor over the red ink blot.

wow wow wow! thanks iGav, and others who've contributed. :D never knew you were such a motion graphics nut. :p it's good to see another one. :)

have you guys seen the Mills latest work? the Mercedes Cloud Gods commercial? very nice work, and there's also an interview with one of the creators flowting around on CG Channel or somewhere like that.

The Mill - 'Cloud Gods' is featured on teh main page.

also some more excellent commercial work from Framestore CFC. i know we all know about them, but it's a massive site, so i thought i'd just post some choice commercials. :)

Audi - 'Illusions' - a very trippy commercial. think of Eschers' illusions applied to video. :D

XBox - 'Mosquito' - this isn't new, but it's a classic. i just love it. :D

XBox - 'Champagne' - another classic. i have been looking for this commercial for ages, i was stoked to finally find it here.

thanks again to iGav and others, there's heaps of stuff for me to go through now, should keep me well and truly inspired for the next semester. :D of course i'll keep posting more as i come accross it as well.

i'm not sure if these couple of sites have been posted by iGAV or not but here they are:

Parasol Island

DFORM1
I like the layout of this site; looks like a negitive peice of film. Anyway check out the video (click on the SHIFTFUNC PROMO, in the new stuff for 2004 section), it has some impressive motion graphics.

thanks Sweetfeld28 for DFORM1, that's a really nice looking site. i hope thier reel is as good. :D

and thanks to blue&whiteman as well, i just checked out Massive Black, i'd never heard of those guys before, looks like they've done soem great work as well.

edit>> wow i just had more of a look at DFORM1, they did the Merrick & Rosso intro, cool stuff! :D

By profession I'm an interaction and motion designer so keeping up and being aware of the output of my contemporaries is a given. ;)

The Mill frequently updates their sh*t so best to keep it frequent to avoid missing anything. ;)

I see you mention 'next semester'.... so what you studying??? :)

These are really great great links ! Very very good thread and very helpful ! Thanks to iGav.

One question from my site: does anyone know really good sites for 3D animation ? Maybe architectual 3D animation ? If so it would be really great if you can post some links.

Thanks and regards

I don't really know of any specific 3D links as I don't really work in that area.

Same goes for architectural animation links, however there's a new online exhibition at MoMA.org called Tall Buildings, whether that's of any interest to you or not I don't know, but it's interesting all the same. :)

Hi,

thanks, looks like a interesting exhibition. I have been once in NYC and visited the moma. Very interesting and exciting.

Cheers
