Best you can do is be first in line at the Apple store. Problem is they may not even get any X units or maybe not the color or memory size you want.

The best way is through the app store and pay for it in full. They will be the lucky ones.

Train your finger muscle and speed now and prepare to do this at the order screen.

hope
luck
quick broadband speed to order lol
I wouldn’t trust wifi. I remember one year I preordered and I was using my laptop to order. I stayed up all night. And when it came time to order. My cable modem service went down. By the time it came back up. I was to late to get my phone on release day. So now I use the App Store app on my phone or iPad. And use the LTE Verizon service to preorder. I was so upset at my cable modem provider that night lol.

It's going to be tight, me thinks.
That’s what she said?

Employee Purchase Program. Qualified Apple Employees and affiliated companies employees get better pricing but there are restrictions.

Dave

If that's what I'm thinking it is we have access to it as at&t employees but the iPhones and iPads were never discounted.

I see epp discounts on phones and ipads. Just not for new releases.
But the discounts aren't huge. Less than sales tax that I see. Save more money ordering from out of state where you don't pay sales tax on sale.

My plan is to get everything set with a default payment card, buy it outright for collection then go into the Apple Store and try to get it put onto IUP.

Second to that will try and also pre-order it on a network if the above plan fails.

P.S Is what I am planning possible for the UK?

Any way to choose/ favorite an unlocked version in the app? Seems like you have to choose a carrier version.

I don’t see an unlocked version either. The only one that doesn’t require carrier info is T-Mobile which can also be used with AT&T. I hope there is an unlocked version at preorder like the 8 as it would be a lot faster to checkout. I’m on Verizon, so I can’t use the T-Mobile one.

You have to choose a carrier version. (for X)
Else wait for the unlocked version to be available. Likely 2 months or more after release.

It'll launch same time as rest
The unlocked version will not be available in the US at launch. The top of the line phone has never been available as unlocked at launch in the US. (8/8+ is aberration because the X is the top of line phone).

It's a contractual obligation thing between Apple and carriers.

I don't see an option to "favorite" the iPhone X just yet in the Apple Store app. I'm guessing because it's not available yet? Anyone else seeing something different?

If you buy the phone outright, it will come unlocked, with the SIM card of the carrier you indicated.

Edit: Added screen cap.

We shall, you're wrong, protoxx is right, you're dreaming if you think there will be a sim free option for this at launch

But T-mobile is the only version that allows you to not input carrier info therefore yes completely unlocked for GSM carriers only, unless you buy outright in store to get the CDMA/GSM versions.
