Very impressed with wireless transfer. It recognized that my old phone was enrolled in the beta program. It asked me if I wanted to continue with the beta program and updated itself to the latest beta.

Thanks for confirming!I did a cabled Direct Transfer and I was happy that my Apple Pay's were transferred without needing to be reactivated again. I did need to re login to banking apps...
I am trying to remember last year when I did this do you have to activate new phone first or does that happen after all the transfer from old? Should I leave old phone connected to cell signal ect during that. I just do not recall I think last year was the year I first used going from 11ProMax to 12ProMaxI did a cabled Direct Transfer and I was happy that my Apple Pay's were transferred without needing to be reactivated again. It will activate to the esim in the 13.I have a question as to how to setup new iPhone 13 Pro coming tomorrow. I am going up from a iPhone 11 Pro that has only eSim no physical sim. When I activate the new 13 will it active to the sim in the 13 or will it go to eSim. If I do phone to phone transfer what will happen in this instance. I also have a iWatch 6 that's paired to my 11.
Phone to phone transfer does it all activates new phone first with esim, deactivates old phone then asks for Apple ID and couple things and it is a seamless transfer took about 2 plus hours with my 12 ProMax to 13 ProMax then all the apps have to update/redownload as always no problems at allI have a question as to how to setup new iPhone 13 Pro coming tomorrow. So I just turn on new phone before I start the transfer. I afraid when I turn on new phone its going to activate on the physical sim. Could you tell me a little more just how to do this. Or do I take sim out of 13 first.Phone to phone transfer does it all activates new phone first with esim, deactivates old phone then asks for Apple ID and couple things and it is a seamless transfer took about 2 plus hours with my 12 ProMax to 13 ProMax then all the apps have to update/redownload as always no problems at all
My AT&T phone did not come with sim it came with the esim activated (at least that is what I read was case for most carrier phones one buys at apple or elsewhere ). So I just ran the transfer and the first thing it does is ask if this is phone number you want on new phone I answered the yes choice and it did the rest, took a minute or two but new phone was activated with my 5G signal and it went on to do the rest of transfer. I did nothing with new phone and at end when I wiped my 12 pro max the return box told me to remove old sim themSo I just turn on new phone before I start the transfer. I've spent a few hours searching, and can't seem to find a definite answer about the optimal method to transfer music + playlists from old to new phone.
I can't rely on backing up from my iTunes, because my Mac iTunes randomly delete songs from playlists every few months and I spend hours adding the songs back to the affected playlists. (I realise this is another huge problem that seems to occur to many, but there seems to be no solution).
Hence, the versions on my current phone are the ones I want to transfer over.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
No, I've never used Apple Music. Just iTunes and playlists that I've made in that & manually synced with my phone.Do you mean Apple Music? If so that you could transfer across with an iCloud restore. I did a direct transfer my playlist came across but I’m not too sure if that’s your question
I used device to device transfer and all my music and photos got transferred to the new device. No, I've never used Apple Music. Just iTunes and playlists that I've made in that & manually synced with my phone.
All is well I got my 13 Pros 2 of them yesterday and they are up and running. only bad thing I updated to 15.1 to get watch and unlock to work and and 2 hours later they post a fix for 15. Guess I ride this train out.Turn on new phone. Put old phone near new phone. It will pop up a box asking if you want to transfer.
Mine didn't when I did the device-to-device transfers. From memory, the transaction histories also did not transfer over to the new device when I performed an encrypted transfers via macOS iTunes a couple years back.Does your Apple Pay transaction history carry over?
I'm worried about carrying over bugs too (I've had issues.) What is the best course of action?Tempted to setup as a new iPhone as a fresh start and to avoid carrying over any potential bugs.
