Just cancelled my other order. Going to cancel service tomorrow and go to the carrier we had before. They might be more expensive but they never would have pulled this type of unethical dealings with a customer.
Respect for standing for what you believe in. These bastards need to be reported.

I like T-Mobile for the most part but their sales people are quite ridiculous. I was purchasing a phone outright from them earlier this year (s7) and paying full price. I also picked up a $35 case from the store. The employee did all the paperwork and said my total and I swiped my CC. Then after about 5 minutes of printing paperwork he shows me my new payment plan, for $1.90 per month for my case. He said "You didn't say you were paying full price for the case so I assumed you wanted to finance it". No clue what would be in it for him/them to do this. I obviously just paid the $35 and didn't finance a case. But they are notorious for trying to get you to buy accessories saying it's not a penny extra (then they whisper today in a low voice) but your payment goes up $5-$10 for that screen protector and case you can get on Amazon for $10 total.

That last part happens across all 4 carriers to some degree.

When I bought my 6s, they sold me a 3-pack of film protectors and an extra charger. Won't do that again.

But the OP's case was drastically different.

Lol:D
He thought you wanted to finance a case?
These reps are wild.
Sure dude, let me get a 5 year loan for a car charger too. Put it on my cellphone bill.

I think what you did was great and I totally respect you for it. I think more consumers need to say this kind of behaviour isn't acceptable. That's the only way corporations are going to change their policies. Please make sure you let them know on twitter!

T-Mobile is the best compared to the other carriers. I believe you made a huge mistake in leaving them. However, i'm sorry some random sales rep tried to get you to boost his commission.

If you want true horror, manipulation, and torment I could tell you some stories about AT&T.

Ditto at Verizon - one store, my wife and I went to upgrade and the rep was so mad that we wouldn't purchase an accessory, after saying no 5+ times the person insulted me by saying I was being stupid by not protecting my phone, after another no, she slammed down her tablet and said they didn't think they could sell me the phone. The store's manager laughed in my face when I said I was offended - like out loud laughing as I walked out of the store.

Went to another store the next day 10 miles away and the service was SO AMAZING that I was floored how nice everyone was - the manager was out there helping people too with a smile and that really affected everyone else in the store - the good store was 6x as packed as the first store that I had the bad experience at.

Every service has good/bad. Because that good store is over 100 miles away from my house, I can't go to it very often. So I refuse to step foot in Verizon stores. Apple Store only.

that sucks, but thats today's world. Should have just purchased it- complained the next day, get a refund or return of the accessories and cancel the package, then complain to get $50 credit for the trouble.

Its very hard to win battles against big companies. sometimes you just gotta play the game back.

I bought a case when I got my phone. I checked and they were a few dollars higher than amazon. Mentioned this and my continued service with them and was given 20% off the case. Got what I wanted cheaper than amazon.

This was T-mobile too.

Every store can have a bad apple and like others have said it's your call. I don't know what I would have done in that situation.

This should not be acceptable. Only brushed up against T-Mo once, long ago, and they showed me to be in an excellent service area at my office and home. In real life I could only get phone calls and email if I walked outside. ATT give me 4 bars at these same locations and I have been happy with them for years.

T-Mo sets it own rules so if you want the phone bad enough . . . .accessories!

The best carrier is the one who can give you the best cellular service in the area to use your phone. T-Mo has come a long way but still lacks coverage in areas where other carriers do. I still have to let my friend use my ATT iPhone when driving from Jacksonville to Atlanta as his t-Mo has NO SERVICE!

It's quite amusing to see these stories about T-Mobile. I definitely agree that the services and benefits are phenomenal, however the actual reps are pretty shady with of course a few exceptions of a few stores that are actually honest and kind.

Also shout out to the JOD Customers out there, they definitely try to get us. Just a tip, if you're upgrading or exchanging of any sort, make sure you're still on JOD after the transaction. They will try their best to put you on regular JUMP and not let you know. This happened to me last saturday, I exchanged my Note 7 being that it's paperweight now and got an iPhone 7, the rep knew I was on JOD however insisted on putting me on regular JUMP, I was not aware of this until I received a text saying "Welcome to JUMP" a day after. This issue has been resolved already and will be waiting for my refund to process but I am sharing this experience to help other consumers with good standing. While they have JOD on the site and on the phone, stores do not promote it anymore (however they are required to give it to you if you ask for it and qualify for it). And if anyone says "they're taking out JOD soon" do not believe them, it's a lie. JOD is going to stay until CEO says otherwise. My dad called a store about it and the rep explained to him that they will be removing it soon and that they do not promote it anymore because "in the long run they're actually losing money". this is FALSE. It's not that they're losing money, it's just the fact that THEY'RE losing money, get it? The company is actually making a lot of money off of us in the long run, but the actual stores/rep isn't making anything from it, no commission, no taxes.

If anyone is curious about JUMP vs JUMP On DEMAND. You can read about it more here; http://explore.t-mobile.com/phone-upgrades

To put it short though, reps do not get a commission for JOD transactions, the store does not get a single penny (from us at least) which is why they tend to not offer it let alone mention it, despite it being superior to regular JUMP.

Says no one ever.

Apparently a couple of people have now said it and you can count me as one, too. Coverage they're fine for me, yes, they are weaker than the competition. I have no qualms with them though or their service.

I think a few T mobile subscribers will disagree with you.
T-Mobile added 1.9 million net customers last quarter bringing its total customer count to more than 67 million. This was the thirteenth consecutive quarter in which the Company has generated more than 1 million net customer additions.

I am part of that 1.9 million added and brought over 10 of my friends all from AT&T. We're all pretty damn happy

Way to stand up for your beliefs OP. There are TONS of reports all over social media and reddit about how T-Mobile conducts shady business in their stores. Lots of reports of reps adding things to their orders without the customers knowledge, lying about plans/prices, and more similar to the OP where he was forced to purchase a bundle. I'm sure it happens now and then on other carriers, but it's nowhere near as rampant as with T-Mobile.

So I spent a good hour calling every t-mobile store in my area to find a phone for my wife since hers is back ordered. To my immense joy and surprise I found a local store with a 128gb in stock and set off to purchase it. The store rep informed us due to high demand and low supply the only way I could purchase it was if I also rolled in the "accessory bundle" for the low low price of only an additional $7 per month. Essentially adding $126 to the cost of the phone. Unacceptable I thought to myself. How can I be forced to buy an accessory package?

I was so taken by this blatant gouging attempt I called the toll free customer service line. The rep agreed she did not believe this to be correct and she called the store and conferenced the in store sales rep with myself to see what the confusion might be. The in store rep asserted that his "boss" informed him this was the only way they could sell the last two phones they had...

Long story longer, I hopped on twitter to express my frustration to @johnlegere. Within moments I received a direct message. The end result:

These employee will have each others back. They can change the rules of the game as it goes on. It's sad.

Just go to another store and stop crying about it... your experiences at one Store doesn't necessarily represents T-Mobile and what goes on in other stores.

I'm not saying what they did was right but if you really wanted the phone you could've just bought it and return the accessories the next day.

Meh the t-mobile stores in my area is just as bad.

Sounds similar to me When I purchased my original Xbox 360 GameStop was illegally "Bundling" accessories they said since the high demand I had to Purchase 3 Accessories Any 3 things in the store would do.

Some how magic happen I called GameStop HQ to report this. A pretty high up respresentative Did an under cover call to the store in question posing as a Customer and verified my issues.

The district manager Ended up selling me an Xbox 360 50% off and giving me 1 free game.
For a 21 year old this was a Huge deal.
