Not keen on the hole-punch camera tbh.
I agree. I haven't keep up with new iPhones in the past years. Don't even know what number they're at. If they want to impress me, they better come up with a technology that will let you scan your fingerprints directly on screen and develop a camera underneath the screen or something. No notch. That would be impressive.

I saw the speculation on advanced cooling systems. The chips in Android devices run hotter than the Apple chips, am I right? So they need the advanced cooling, but maybe Apple doesn’t? That being said, having an advanced cooling system doesn’t sound like a bad thing.

They are not going to transition from their (love it or hate it) iconic notch to a hole-punch camera the competition has been using for years. Especially if they are within 1 or 2 product cycles of no notch or hole punch at all. I get Apple‘s version would still come with FaceID and it’s components but copying 3 or 4 year old features when there is no real advantage to gain makes no sense.

Also, by 2014, at least one iPhone will have zero ports.

I was thinking the same, especially if the rumours of a re-designed notch this year are to be believed.

We could of course be wrong, but it would be very atypical for Apple to change their display design in rapid succession on top of using different designs across their then current lineup. I tend to agree that if the completely clean iPhone screen is almost writhing reach, Apple won't rock the boat too much on the way there.

I understand that people keep complaining about the notch, but I'm equally sceptical that there is a significant number of people moving to Android over it. I assume a slightly bigger group of users is holding off upgrading to a newer phone, but again I tend to think that this effect is slightly overestimated in forums like this.

"The World's First 10 Gigabit 5G Modem and Antenna"

So 1GB per second?

How come this 5G technology can go as fast as 10,000Mbps all the way from the ISP antenna towers, yet my WiFi at home is only limited to 500Mbps in best conditions? I am really bothered by this.

I would buy the heck out of a bezel-less 4.7" iPhone SE 3! The physical size of the iPhone 12 mini is nice, but with its screen going edge to edge at 5.4", it's uncomfortable to reach all edges with one thumb.

The only thing that could get me to go "Pro" would be a significantly larger camera sensor behind one variable zoom lens, with little or no camera bump. Otherwise, I'll hold on to my old iPhone and buy a DSLR.

Bring the SE 3. 2022 feels a bit long, but I guess it’s to make the jump in SoC further as the SE refresh cycle is longer. A15, TouchID, larger battery, seems like the next perfect base iPhone.

So, in 3 years Apple will catch up to Android phones from a couple of years ago?

Hole-punch display: exists
All screen display: exists
Periscope camera: exists
Folding phone: exists
etc etc.

When will Apple return to leading phone hardware innovation?
Some of the first airbags in cars in the US were developed in the early 1970's. Not only do very few people probably know/care about that, I imagine most of us would still rather have a late-model car rather than a 1974 Buick. I'm good not being "first."

“Apple is believed to plan its new iPhones several years in advance...”

So it’s possible they don‘t plan several years in advance? I believe this article is poorly written.

If this comes to pass, you will be able to exceed your Verizon data cap for the month in less than 30 seconds!
