What if your tweaks don't get updated for the beta version? Reading through various ongoing threads here it looks like a lot of stuff doesn't work correctly on the beta. In the past, devs don't normally update tweaks for specific betas. Who knows, in the end it might not even be an issue. Just some food for thought.

Good call, and food for thought.
So far though, the tweaks I enjoy the most are accessible with the beta. The few that are not I suspect will be updated, but you're right: they simply may not be- yet that is something I would live with to keep 7.1

As of now, apple is still signing 7.0.4. Just downgraded for the beta. Iconoclasm needed >.>

Just curious but why wouldn't apple be still signing 7.0.4?If the non-jailbreaking crowd decides to never update to 7.1 wouldn't they still need to sign the previous revision?

By not signing 7.0.4 they force whoever wants to update/restore to update to 7.1.

That is true but have they done that in the past? I dont remember anyone being forced to update their iOS version ever.

Until a few weeks ago my wife didnt even update hers from 5.x to 7.0.4.

Ah ok I get the viewpoint you guys are talking about. Nothing to see here move along just a little misunderstanding of context.

Yeah its important to know which version apple is signing because once a newer version is released (presumed release of 7.0.5 to stop the jailbreak), then you can never restore to 7.0.4 again. When 7.1 is released, 7.0.4 will definitely stop being signed, so it is just a matter of time before the jailbreak hole is likely closed...

That's why I made my post, to tell people its still possible to restore to 7.0.4 and jb.

Yup I get it completely and like I said I misunderstood the context of the significance of the signing of older versions.

I got bit hard when my AppleTV 2 was acting up, had to do a restore, and it updated to iOS 5 (or whatever it is now) with that new ugly GUI.

Luckily (although several months later) I found out that I actually had 4.x blobs saved and was able to revert to the old UI. :)

Not everyone is so lucky though. And I'm not sure if saving your blobs does any good anymore, as I believe Apple closed that loop long ago.

Does anyone have any kind of ideas/guesses/predictions on how much time we have left?

In particular, do you think it will be closed before the end of the day because somehow I completely missed the JB release this year--just heard about it today, but I won't be able to do it until this evening...

Also, I'm debating whether to order the 5s today, I have the 4s and was waiting for the JB release to upgrade...but now finding out that it has been out for so long, I'm wondering if I'm too late to try to do that--I can't remember how long the window was open last year (I've been torn between whether to upgrade and JB or just wait for the next gen release in September and deal with a non JB device until next January anyway, so I wont be completely bummed if I can only update iOS7 on my 4s and iPad...though I've heard things about there never being another JB etc.??)

...would be grateful if anyone has any info/advice to offer on that one?

Oh, also, if the JB is working 7.1 beta is there any reason to believe it might work with the office release?

Out of curiosity. What's in 7.1 so important? I just checked the changes and none is crucial imo.
