Good god. it is a freaking MULTITOUCH DEVICE. This is not a nintendo DS!
The whole point of the iPad IS limiting functionality. To keep things simple, easy to understand and operate. You can think of it as more of an appliance than a computer. But of course the nerds just don't get this. They want it to have 10 serial ports, a 10 MP camera, and a builtin toaster just like other computers out there.
Microsoft yet again proves that they just don't get it.
Limiting functionality, yes. Keeping it simple, yes. But not even having the option of a stylus?
The iPad could have found an enormous student market had it had a stylus - if I were still a student, the idea of carrying around all my notes in an Internet-ready device would be far too good to pass up. Without a stylus, that becomes much harder...ever tried taking notes in a word processor? It's painful, and slow - a pen (or stylus) is necessary in this environment.
Why pitch it as just a consumer toy, when it could be a consumer toy and a much more effective productivity tool in one go? I'm sure Apple could come up with a good competitor to Microsoft's OneNote, excellent though it is.
