I would not help it's mostly C++ :)

I have to say that the Cocoa interface programming is quite "different" then what I am used to; but slowly over time I am getting the hang of it. I have been programming in many different languages for years; but this is just, odd.

But I'll get it, slowly but surely. Just wish my book wasn't out of date. Maybe I should pick up Rev 3. :D

It will be interesting to see how BioShock runs on iMac and its different gpu's. I thought it was a very strange world to say the least and wish I would have finished it. Oct 7th was the release date so we should be seeing somones review soon. Where's the demo and please dont force bit torrent on us.

Where's the demo and please dont force bit torrent on us.

The demo is coming we just got the main game completed first. The demo will be hosted by us using bit-torrent to start with.

We will make the links direct once the traffic drops to a reasonable level but as the demo is about 1GB in size and it should be fairly popular, sharing by bit-torrent gives the highest download speed to the most amount of people.

I think a few sites might offer a direct download and I will post here with a link although we most likely will have some information on the site as well.

Cheers,

Edwin

Thanks for the response, I wish you lots of sales so we can get more mac games and intend to order my copy.

No problem :) If you have any reasons why you dislike bit-torrent please send me a PM. I can't say we will change things but I welcome any suggestions and feedback.

Just the inherit dangers of Bit torrent and opening ones system to whatever may wander in and out. By the way I just pulled the plug so when are you shipping the boxes?

It is a common misconception that bit-torrent is not secure because of its heavy use in software piracy where people can download dangerous files which can damage your computer. The method of delivery can be direct download or torrent, as long as the person you are downloading the .torrent file or the direct file is legitimate you should have no worries.

As such I would say Bit-torrent is just as safe (if not in some ways more so) than standard downloading, as long as you always use a good torrent client which does not have malware (and I don't think any on the Mac do) and you only use torrent files from legitimate places you have little or no risk.

Remember you can only be attacked or get viruses if you have a service/program that can be logged into remotely or another service that will accept files. Bit-Torrent only accepts files and only the ones you specifically have chosen via a .torrent file so outside users cannot influence what the program will download.

In the case of Bit-torrent the file we provide contains a hash of all of the data. You can been 100% sure what you download is exactly the same as what we are hosting. In fact if someone did send you false packets they would be rejected as part of the bit-torrent protocol.

Here is a very simple article explaining security I found after a few mins of Googling, I will look at us writing up a more detailed guide on how Bit-torrent works and how it keeps things secure etc and place it somewhere on our site (or a blog if we get one).

Cheers,

Edwin

They should be rolling out of the manufacturing factory to the stores. If your awaiting a Feral web-store order we are waiting by the office doors for the delivery man to arrive with the pre-order stock :D As soon we have it you will know via email as your game will ship.

Edwin

ah some news on bioshock actually just sent feral an email asking where the game was haha but anyway glad to hear its still alive.

as someone said before will you guys be supporting bioshock 2 hopefully at release?

Be sure to post us a link to the demo when ready.
Thanks.

Have no fear, we'll be shouting it from the rooftops when it's ready!

'Fraid we can't comment on potential ports as it tends to rip a hole in the fabric of space. I don't know if you've ever had to wrestle an inter-dimensional time demon to the ground but let me tell you—it ain't pretty.

yeah... those sneaky basterds...

Is this game worth buying a third time? Maybe if it runs great on my MBP.

Does this have any form of achievements? I never finished Brass Balls (not that hard).

Keep your achievements to kiddie console games, its bad enough there littering my mmo never mind fps games.

I would value your opinion more if you could demonstrate competence in games with some sort of online gaming resume that proves whether you are serious or just a Zuma nut with big talk... something like... I don't know... ACHIEVEMENTS.

:)

J/K

But seriously, I would respect you more if you had Brass Balls.

The Brass Balls achievement is awarded for finishing Bioshock on the hardest setting with out dying a single time in the entire playthrough (or harvesting lil sisters). LOL - not too many kiddies with that one.

Yeah, I just talked myself into buying it again.

Yep them things people like myself would do before achievements were added to games, not to show of to other people but just to see if i could do it. I do not care if someone else thinks i am imba 1337 at playing a game i play it for the fun and sometimes the sport.

Why would you care if an achievement flashed up on the screen at the end of the game or not?
Why not just set your own goals and be happy for achieving them?

I do not understand the reason for achievements in games, in WoW it is getting rather ridiculous being asked to link an achievement for a easy mode of a instance like Ulduar when i had just ridden in front of the guy asking for group members with the hard mode Protodrake. I don't know about other games but having to dig though all these achievements gets annoying, it also annoys me that if it is not an official achievement i seems to not be worth doing anymore and the same goes if the achievement reaps no reward.

I will keep games as the should be, for fun. If i want to play though Half life 2 or Bioshock with one hand tied behind my back and never taking one hit then if i manage to do that i'll be quite chuffed but i wont be posting a youtube video of my achievement to gloat, whats the bloody point. It is my achievement not anyone else's.

meh, you do that then.

As i said i don't get your achievement mentality. This brass balls achievement sounds like how the game should be played in the first place with no mistakes as there would be no mistakes in real life.

Isnt all of this why they have different difficulty setting? You want to get through without using the vitachamber set it to Dont Hurt Me, want to have a real challenge set it to Bring em on!

Problem is when games have 'Easy' that is too hard or 'Hard' that is too easy. Bioshock is trivial on hardest settings.

Maybe, maybe not but its still a lot of fun. The question we all should be asking is today is Oct 17. The release date was......Oct 7:eek: Makes me think of UT3 the unreal that was promised to Mac and we are still waiting:mad:

The game just started shipping. I guess they will probably put the demo out a little later, as usual (no point holding up the actual game just to get the demo done).
