have not seen these raptors en masse before; I counted at least six; tricky to get more than two in a frame

"In Michigan, common loons are now known to breed only in the Upper Peninsula and the very northern portions of the Lower Peninsula. Only a few isolated pairs remain in the southern portions of the Lower Peninsula. However, even in the north, there are not enough birds to fill the available habitat.

Are loons rare in Michigan?
Loons are currently on the Michigan endangered species list. They have a wide range of problems, including: Lack of quiet lakes with limited boat travel on which they can nest."

I took photos at Hines Park in Wayne County (Southeastern Michigan). Wildlife was scarce, but I got lucky capturing a Common Loon.

I heard this bird, making sound with it's feathers. So I tried to take a few photos.
From what I can tell, it is a Common snipe.

My lens is not that great for bird photography. Canon EF 70-300mm L IS. Looking at some of your photos, I will get a better lens when I can afford it.

Does that lens take a TC? Another great way to increase reach on a budget.
