I agree except for the chrome bezel. It is distracting from the focal point of the screen and the GUI which is what the iPhone is all about. I hope they make it less intrusive like the darker anodized aluminum border on the iPod Touch, like this...

Your pictures are really good, kudos to that. But the whole iPhone Nano concept about giving people less apps is pointless. Look at how hackers were able to put the iPhone apps on the iPod touch before the January Software Update rolled around. They'll do the same thing for the iPhone Nano and jailbreak it.

Well if you look at my design it does not have WIFI. The logic behind that decision is because the iPhone Nano would be targeted at teens and a younger audience that would not be able to afford data plans. I think it would be great to also have it include WIFI and all the data apps, but I'm not quite sure how that would work with cost of materials, size, target audience, etc. So it will be interesting to see what Apple does.

That's actually a great idea with the no wifi. Not everyone wants to shell out the extra cash for the data, and if you don't really need the Internet everywhere, its a handy money saver. Very clever. :)

Not everyone is paying for data, that's the point of wifi that you can use it on your own data network. If a device this became popular in a local area school and parents could even set up a wifi mesh that covered from school to as far out in the serviced suburbs as density allows for.

Use that data network for all sorts of school/community related features, much like the universities are already looking in to.

Edit: Steve has has discussions with the guy from fon.
so maybe they looking to integrate to AirPort products.
It's shouldn't be to hard to create zones in a fon network to give some users better access.
Or access to some services that general users don't get.

Thicker and Plastic?

I recently read somewhere that the new I-phone would be slimmer but now comments are suggesting that it would be thicker. Also suggestions that the Macbook is not going to be made of plastic {new model due out} but Aircraft aluminium as Apple are striving to be ECO friendly,so why would the I-Phone be built of plastic? Be good to hear any views on this.

Yuck!

I don't hate the glossy black... I could deal with that. But I hope they still give the option of buying the regular aluminum iPhone, or at least make a matte black version. IMO that glossy white looks like absolute crap. That design just seems like a 4-year leap backwards for Apple.

If I wanted something glossy white I'd carry my Mighty Mouse in my pocket.

so this really was the real one right lol

It certainly looks like it. Highlights from this thread include posts along the lines of "Thank god it's a fake, it looks horrible".

Now I'm sure those same people are going 'OMG it's awesome, I want one'.
