Looks like you can combine the local government employee discount with the Black Friday discount.

But, I have little reason to buy an iBook or even money to spend...

My hat's off to you. I've always wanted a pair of Creatures. And red look at you making stylish statement.

I was originally going to get White or Grey, but since most of my Apple stuff is white or grey my mom said that the Red Creatures would look cool with the eMac and the new iPod. I have always wanted a set of Creatures, and the prices today struck me as an awesome deal so I decided to go ahead and get them instead of the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks II I originally wanted.

Best Buy Bucks

Okay, I just realized you were joking...was the first guy joking, though? Tossing $75?? Put it in an envelope and send it to me. Seriously, its not a great burden on me to drive to the store to spend $75 of somebody elses money. Seriously, send them to me.

I actually wasn't joking and think I will spend them. The only question is what do I spend my $81 on? A 2GB nano at $118? I really wanted a 4GB and I don't find paying full price for one to be that big of a blow to my wallet. A pair of high end headphones I would need to buy anyways? A printer I've had my eye on for a while which would free up some space? I don't print all that often so there isn't that big of a wow factor. They do carry my second choice for an LCD monitor, but I am cautious of spending that kind of money. But that would have a big wow factor at home and could be used as a second monitor on a daul monitor setup. Or I could buy an OTA HDTV tuner while I waiting on my monitor of choice with HDTV inputs. I could use it at standard def while I'm waiting.

Oh just read the rules:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...=cat10011&contentId=1127211377441&id=cat12098

You can spend upto $300 Best Buy Bucks per purchase, but you can only use 40 promotional codes per perchase. My $81 come from 61 promotional codes. Oops, just recounted it's actually $80 from 60 codes. So I can only use $70 toward one purchase and $10 to a second purchase. And blowing it all on CDs, DVD, and Video games isn't a good option. " Limit 3 of any 1 CD, DVD or video game title per customer per day." The nano and headphones are looking like a better combo perchase now. The only thing that looks shady is that if your order is canceled for any reason at all (out of stock, delays, etc.) you forfeit the Best Buy Bucks. It might just be safer to go to the store, but I really don't look forward to the cashier scanning every individual tiny slip of paper. I am a patient person, but I always hate those people with a bag full of coupons when I'm standing in line.

Damn! I really thought I'd be getting a new LCD for a second there.

I just got an Airport Express! I love its features and it's so compact. I'm going to use it as my mobile router for my Nintendo DS. A lot of the classrooms have ehternet that I can just plug into with my router. I love that it's all in one. No AC transformers to carry around. :D

The Indianapolis Apple Store was packed.

Just got home

Well, I picked me up an iSight. Sweet! Can't wait to use it. Unfortunately, I have to wait until Christmas.

I will say that, despite the lack of sale prices on the iPods, I noticed multiple people purchasing multiple iPods. One older lady picked up 6-30 gig iPods. yikes. I wish my grandma (or mom, or dad, or anybody for that matter) would splurge like that. Merry Christmas to some lucky bunch of kids.

Crap!

Best Buy Bucks can't be used toward video game hardware, Apple® products, and Cinema Systems. That means no iPods, no GameBoy, or Nintendo DS. What qualifies as Cinema Systems? LCD tvs? What if an LCD monitor with tv functions is in the computer department does that count? Well now the headphones are a given purchase, but what else should I get?

at Montgomery Mall. The store is packed. This is the first time I've seen the nano and the ipod video in person-- they are unbelievable. People are buying ipods left and right. I'm going to have a hard time leaving without an ipod video myself-- they are much more impressive in person than on TV!

Your post made me chuckle! My teenage daughter and I visited the store earlier today -- she had been highly skeptical of the 5G iPod, until one of the Apple guys handed her one with a video playing on it -- she just kept turning it over in her hand and saying "OK, I've changed my mind, this is very, very cool". :)

Good thing she liked it since I already ordered her one for her holiday gift this year... ;)

Crap again

The checkout page keeps timing out after I enter a few premotional codes. And I have to enter 40 of them. Nuts to this I try stopping by the store before work sometime next week. Oh, and I've settled on something I needed anyways, $102.99 pair of Sony MDR-XD400s. After Best Buy Bucks they should only come to $32.99. They cost $69.99 on Amazon. Just gotta figure out what to spend the other $10 on.

Am I the only one who thinks the $100 on an iBook is a decent deal here? I mean what were you all expecting, 30% of an iPod? Apple's gonna sell millions of iPods anyways, they really don't need to put them on sale.

The iPod is really the only thing I can afford, and need at the moment, so I was really hoping that would go on sale. $100 off an iBook is a good deal, but I just saw a PC laptop for $200. Now that's a really good deal.

As mentioned elsewhere, Amazon is offering a $150 mail-in rebate on the 20" and $125 on the 17". (Free shhipping and no sales tax in most states.) Of course, you have to wait a few weeks to get your money back.

In regards to my earlier post about prices not showing up properly... remember, Apple monitors these forums and it wouldn't surprise me if they noticed my image and fixed something pronto.
