Since, happily, the negative down vote no longer exists, the only way to register one negative feelings about a post is to actually say something. I'm sure you are not suggesting that all negative posts are inappropriate.

If you are suggesting that the snotty nature of my post was inappropriate or in bad taste, with that I would not argue... that's a matter of one's feelings toward the use of irony or sarcasm. :)

But I would argue that negative posts (perhaps a bit less snarky than mine) are perfectly appropriate. Your suggestion that the OP do a Search before opening a redundant thread was more helpful than my post.:D

Thats the problem with text on a screen you really can't read the emotion behind the post so one post that may come off funny to one person can seem personal and ugly to another.

Nah, I'm not suggesting that all negative posts are bad, obviously negativity is a feat. human emotion at times and can actually make for some interesting conversation. Obviously I'm not perfect either I'm sure I have some rude posts at some point.

No big deal bro, I probably took it harder than I should have. Sawry.

OT, but hey, that's a nice example for a mature discussion with no anonymous downvote button. thanks to both !

The reason I went with black, after looking at a white iPad and iPhone as well, is because of one thing that I cannot stand with the white versions.

You will see a think black line/frame between the display and the white frame and for me I found it very annoying. With the black frame, it just blends in and you don't notice it. But with the white frame, it caught my eye too much and I didn't like it at all.

I just bought my second iPad yesterday and went with the black one. I've also had two iPhones, both which were black as well. I just prefer the look of the black over the white.

One thing that annoys me with the iPhone and now the iPad is that on the white models you see the camera and in the case of the iPhone the earpiece whereas with the black versions they are pretty much invisible.

Also as a previous post suggested the white border may be distracting while in a darkened area while using the iPad.

For me, the black looks sleeker and better.

Whatever color you decide is really just a personal preference.

I have a black ipad 2 and white ipad 3. White one makes the iPad look smaller. Black one feels like a flat MBP screen and appears larger due to the black screen and bezel.

I prefer the white, it feels less like I'm holding a computer.

I think a case can be made for either color.

White tends to be easier on the eyes since the contrast is weaker, the glare is less apparent but
If u want your content to stand out the most, and have the bezel fade away more often, go for black. Only objection I can find is reading more where the border is white.

The color that u choose can be an important decision cause it does affect how u perceive things on your iPad. The frame does directly affect the screen image.

Black is safest if u really are that indecisive.

I chose white, because it is a better surround for looking at photos, just like a white matte picture frame.

Black

When I was ordering a family member said I should get white and I did kind of regret it for day - but the order was already placed. But when I got it I realized I am really happy with my decision.

I don't think that even in the future I would buy a white iPad.

I like to alternate. My first iPhone was white (on back only). Then there wasn't a white when I upgraded to the 4. So next will probably be white.

My first iPad I had the black front, no choice. The current one is White.

Thats actually an excellent point.

I am a new iPad owner and I went with white. This is one of those subjects that will be forever debated. My reasoning is that I went to best buy and liked the white one better. I looked at them side by side, and the white seemed to have a brighter, more approachable screen. I watched YouTube vids, looked at pics, and read some text.

Some thoughts after a week with white... It does feel a little girly some times, not gonna lie. I can live with that. I still like the appearance of the screen, although I don't think going black would've been an impingement on my enjoyment.

One of my buddies just got a new black one. He spent some time at the apple store and the employee had a strong opinion to go black. He gave the argument that it hides better if watching a video. Goes with the statement that most modern day HD tvs are black, not white.

Ultimately you can't go wrong with either. I still have 20 days to exchange if I want to. I like that the white doesn't show fingerprints. I do like the overall appearance of the screen. My one hang up is the HD tv comparison and the fact that the MacBook pros all come with black borders, not white. Seems like that is the go to graphic workhorse, and it's probably black for a reason.

Those are my thoughts on the subject. Subjective, obviously.

WHITE ONE FOR SUREEEE! But i'm biased.. cuz it's my favorite color. I think the black looks sleek and sophisticated and the white one looks clean and it's just very pretty.
