Fantastic news. For the low price of $30k, you can make videos for the 100 people who own AVP.

Blackmagic makes a number of products for feature film, tv and other professional applications. This isn't at all aimed at a consumer audience.

It's just an URSA Cine body with dual sensors and optics. Nothing to get excited about.

No they can’t. Very few headsets can playback 90fps let alone the resolution this shoots at. And if they could it would be like squeezing a 4K dvd signal into an old school box TV.

If you imagine the headline to the article reads - first 4K camera available for the first 4K TV - That’s more reflective of the significance.

It’s the first time a camera has been commercially available that matches the insane resolution of the Vision Pro.
There literally more headsets that have higher resolution and above 90fps than Vision Pro at a cheaper price ; also downscaling doesn’t degrade an image as much as you think it does. For the amount of Vision Pro users there tons more quest 3 users if you want to compare. The fact that all vr headsets have to visually correct itself always gives less of the actual resolution given than its native resolution

I don’t think it’s only for the Vision Pro. Google Android XR and for Meta it’s also news.

Stop trying to make 3d happen Tim

It’s not going to work.

Just waiting for the lightweight AVP 2 or 3 to come out for the masses. C'mon deep pockets, make it happen for the rest of us.

This sounds AWESOME!

It will also be $6K in 4 years. It only makes sense if you already have Ferraris in all the colors you like, or if you can use it to produce videos people will buy.
