Ever since I updated to watchOS 4, whenever I get a Snapchat notification, instead of the standard app icon appearing on the left hand side of the icon, it is a white box, with a geometric outline, almost like a generic placeholder. I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this or if there is a fix?

Thanks!

Coincidentally I just noticed that a couple minutes ago. First Snapchat notification I’ve gotten since upgrading my Series 2 to watchOS 4. No idea if it’s fixable, but you’re not alone.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. All other app notifications are fine, but Snapchat seems to give me a generic icon when I get a notification. I did a hard reset on my watch, but it still persists.

Not a huge deal, but hopefully a fix is implemented soon.

**EDIT** I noticed this is also happening for Twitter notifications as well. Bleacher Report and WhatsApps icons are fine when I receive them on my watch though.

Do they just not test Apple Watch? There's no way this issue couldn't have gone unnoticed just like the WiFi and LTE issues on the Series 3.

I too have this problem. I've only noticed it with Snapchat and Twitter as well. Might just do a factory reset and see if that fixes it.

I had this with Twitter for a day or so, restarted the watch and phone, also went into watch notifications and toggled Twitter off then on, now the notification icons are back to normal. Not sure if it was something I did or it just self-resolved.

This is happening to me as well. Seen it for Twitter, Breaking News and a third I can't recall which one right now.

Bleacher Report is fine as Spark and Email - seems it's app related though

Same here.

This has been a bug since watchOS 3. It has something to do with the icon bundled with the app binary.

If you look at the apps on your watch, Snapchat is no longer an app. I can’t seem to find it in the App Store either. So this is what is causing this issue to happen.

Snapchat never had a Watch app, though.

It’s started for me a week or so ago I was running iOS 11 on the iPhone and 3.2.(something) on the watch? It followed to WatchOS 4. I hope there’s a solution as it’s slightly annoying.

I'm having the same exact issue. I chatted in with apple support and she had me unpair and then repair and restore my watch to the phone. It did not fix the issue though of course. Guess it'll have to be resolved in a patch update.

I didn't have this issue with watchOS3.

EDIT: So I’m noticing this problem with more apps than just Snapchat and Facebook. My Qapital app just did the same thing.

I wonder when this is going to get fixed? Just did the update that came out to 4.0.1 and the issue is still here.

I have the S1 AW and I'm having the same issues with Twitter and Facebook notifications. Also, I still don't have the ability to update to 4.0.1 which makes me wonder if it's because my AW is the S1 or if it's slow roll out.
