As I've seen in many many threads in the past week, people referring to "summer" as a time for a new updated phone, are these folks referring to the WWDC event?

I'm somewhat new to the whole mac scene only jumping on board, as far as following, when the 1st gen iphone was announced.

When do they usually announce the WWDC date and time?

Do you think there will even be a WWDC this year, ya know, with Apple dipping outta MacWorld and all, who knows what'll happen next?

The reason behind Apple dropping out from Macworld is because it is simply too expensive to announce products with the Macworld schedule and plans. It is best for them to announce their products whenever they want to like the Let's Rock event and the Macbook events date were all chosen and hosted by Apple instead of the IDG group which hosts Macworld. Given the economic situation, they would prefer to choose their own time to release products and wisely spend their money on announcements. WWDC I think is an Apple hosted event.

I have a feeling Apple will do a light update to the iPhone in February. Similar to last year.

They'll probably get enough supply for the 32GB NAND chips to do a storage upgrade.

I was waiting for the 32GB model, but may just purchase one now. The longer I wait, the less time I get to play with the iPhone.

Funny, how I was pretty adamant about not getting an iPhone but then got my father an iPod Touch for christmas and was playing with it constantly. So much so my dad had to rip it out of my hands :)

I just wish Apple would get push notification working. It was annoying to be offline on IM if I just wanted to check something quickly in Safari.

I reallyw nat a 32 but i Wont buy one until it is upgraded to 32bg plus my 8 gB is still running strong so i don't think i should anyways :)

I don't really see the point of a 32GB iPhone. The battery is insufficient to enjoy 32GB worth of anything on any given day, so you're going to be tethered to a wall, and by virtue a computer anyway. So why do you need 32GB storage exactly?

Tell that to the guys with 32 GB iPod Touches who are waiting for the iPhone 32GB. Look, it wouldn't be for you, Apple doesn't always release products just for you, different people have different needs. Just like the iPhone Nano rumor, people would say that not all people would want smartphones. Why do you doubt Apple's ability to create sufficient batteries to support the iPhone 32 GB? I think it would be a great idea for people who wants lots of files (Music, Movies). I would like one too :D.

Some of us keep our iPods charging as we're listening to them in the car. Battery life is a non-issue. For me, I just like the convenience of not having to choose what to include and what to leave off. It's also nice to have room for a movie or two.

I have been struggling with this, as well. I actually went into an Apple store to buy yesterday, but with only a 30 min. break in my day, I walked out when no salesperson was available. Still undecided. I may buy tomorrow. We'll see.

People have their reasons for wanting what they want--even if it's not something you would want.

I'm disappointed, :mad:but hey, we were never promised it. I was really hoping for it, sold my iTouch, waited since October, well I will give it exactly 3 months, March 6th, If its not out, I will buy what is out now. Probably a 16GB. ;)

March 7th is the official unofficial release date for the 32GB iPhone.

I don't really understand this comment. The fact that I want to carry all of my content with me, rather than swap it out on a daily basis, doesn't mean I plan to enjoy *all* of it on a daily basis. I just want it all available to me, rather than a limited selection.

32 GB iPhone would be GREAT. I have a 12 GB music library and YES i do want it available at all times on top of hundreds of apps. Even greater, I would think that was really great if I carried a movie collection!
