Why put a touch-based mobile game on a computer? That sounds horrible. And if it supports proper inputs (keyboard, mouse, controller), why not just make it a proper desktop game and skip the compromise
Probably the larger customer base.

I know the game is getting lots of flak, and rightly so I’m sure. But paint me excited to see the integration between PC and mobile. I do believe with the amount of money Americans are willing to schil out to mobile games, Diablo Immortal, and some other popular IAPs slated to release soon, are only the beginning of a new phase in gaming. Gaming that no longer distinguishes mobile from platform etc.

Another 3rd party dumbed down cartoonish cash grab, by the destructors of one of the most epic RPG sequels. Sad to see what Blizzard has become, a company with no soul, profit driven.

Diablo 4 is another poor attempt of the same, their talent sailed with Blizzard North.

So long Blizzard, once a great company putting out quality games.

Apple Arcade itself already disagree with your opinion. It just works on both mobile and PC.

I'll try it out on my iPad, sure. Diablo 3 was such a radical departure from the slower paced Diablo 2, but ultimately proved fun on its own merits. This might do the same thing, but on a phone or tablet.

They got told in advance about Apple ARM plans, and that the app might be able to run on AS Macs.
They knew about AS plans - World of Warcraft was native on AS almost as fast as AS was released.

Blizzard just refuses to put any other games on Mac OS and even refuses to updated the re-releases that originally were on Mac OS (Like Warcraft III remastered and Diablo 2 Remastered)

I wish they would bring Star Craft to the iPad.
Can I recommend Iron Marines?
By the Kingdom Rush guys, much more cartoony, and def a very much reduced experience compared to StarCraft but also a designed for touch interface game rather than what would be a rather insane port experience.

How come nobody support mobile apps on Apple Silicon Mac since 2022? Most of them are not even supported which defeats the purpose of using mobile app on Mac. The mobile support is terrible and poor. Since Apple is dominating the mobile gaming market, it would be nice to support mobile apps on Mac automatically. But now, even Mac Catalyst isn't widely useful and there are any apps to use on Mac.

Since Diablo Immortal sync with PC but not Mac, it just an example that Apple dont really care about Mac and even mobile developers dont wish to support Mac as well. They really change the policy or add some features to allow some kind of side loading without any optimizations.

At this point, it sucks.

Welcome to your future on Apple Silicon. The community was told, and told repeatedly that this would happen, and we got blown off for our troubles.

Still have Candy Crush.

A couple of months ago I got Diablo II Resurrected (for the Switch of all things because of how easily resume-able and portable that console is).
Even if it’s the least graphically advanced version, what a game! The atmosphere, the music, the sound, the gritty colors, the remaster work is gorgeous.

That bundle came with Diablo III also, which I honestly didn’t like, at least it hasn’t grown on me… tried 20mins, it was too colorful, arcade-y feeling in its health and mana usage. Went back to D2.

Maybe I’m being played by nostalgic and old memories, but Blizzard doesn’t feel as immersive and as amazing as it was before… And every game they release is too colorful with saturated colors pumped to the eleventh. SC2 vs SC1 for example.

Anyways, Diablo Immortal, maybe… but those that want to revive a good old time, D2:Resurrected is probablu not a dissappointment for most here.

Those were always the main points of criticism of D3 - and understandably so, if you’re coming from D2.
For me, it was more that it didn’t have as great a soundtrack as D2 because Matt Uelmen was no longer with the company. (Check out Torchlight, though. He wrote the music for that and it instantly feels Diablo-esque because of it.)

I played D2 for years and I love the game. But nowadays, I can’t be bothered with how hard and therefore time-consuming it is to get further into the game.
Act 3 in particular is a bit of a slog.
D3 is a lot more accessible. Overly so, maybe. It still managed to suck me in completely, especially on console.

But at least the “too colorful” criticism is being addressed with D4 going by what they’ve shown so far. I’m looking forward to that.

As for Immortal, I’m going to give it a try. Diablo on my iPad sounds like an interesting idea, even if I’d prefer a paid-for game.

I remember the backlash. Little did the gamers know (then and today) that the Immortal mobile game is outsourced to completely different studio while Blizzard is working on Diablo 4. But you can't expect much from gamers, the whiniest of the bunch.

their attitude on stage that day was crude at best. it also absolutely made no indication of this, at all.

"hey, we know youre waiting for d4 news. our main dev team is hard at work on the early stages of d4, and we're sadly not ready to show you anything yet.

but we've got another crew working on another diablo project concurrently, and we're excited to show you that today"

people were upset because of how they were spoken to, as you would likely be on a subject you care about.

but feel free to sit on a high horse and pretend like nothing ever irritates you.

Free to play, hard pass, that means either ads, insane IAP / pay to win or data collection/sale.

Just place a reasonable price on your game and I will decide if I want to buy it.
It will be free to play, no ads no nothing...just some in game skins etc like League of legends
The gameplay will not be affected at all

And guess what? I'm 100% confident that Immortals will be far more successful financially than both D2 Resurrected and Diablo 4.
of course, since mobile gaming is now by far the most profitable platform
That doesnt mean we cant see a surprise that D4 will come to mobile but with far strictly support for very high end "2022 and later" smartphones

Since Diablo immortal that is somehow an D3 engine can be supported even by iphone 6s, i suspect that D4 can come for iphone 11 and later when the game comes out probably next year

Nah. Not sure why you think so. D4 was made for the PC and console market from the ground up. Immortals was made for mobile from the ground up. They're optimized for their respective platforms.

You can port any game run as long as you lower the settings and resolution enough.

Note the following
Developed cooperatively between Blizzard and Chinese devs at NetEase (the company which co-operates Overwatch, Diablo 3 and Warcraft in China)
While Blizzard handled the artwork, the programming was done at NetEase. Perhaps with the MS buying Activision deal being so big that it will also likely put more pressure on Microsoft porting games to other platforms to avoid getting into the regulatory spotlight. One can hope. ;)

Remember that the game is made by a third-party studio that specializes in mobile donation trash. As a result, it will be reforge-like quality. Blizzard itself is now engaged in removing offensive pictures from games, there are no hopes for AppleSilicone. In the two years since the start of M1 sales, nothing has been adapted except for WoW.

Well since the only PC support is Windows-only, we should be thankful they’re even developing this for iOS in the first place?

Blizz has pretty much abandoned the Mac now.
Which is such a shame. They were one of the few who really consistently put their games on Macs. But with the soul of the company going away over the last decade, so has support for Macs.

These days it's only the existing titles that get support, like WoW. Last full game to get a release was the horrible remake of Warcraft 2. After that the Diablo 2 remake was released with no Mac support, nor will Diablo 4 have it.

And to top it of, Diablo Immortal won't have it. A game that's running on iPhones. Since there's no mention of it, I'm assuming they are even blocking the M1 Macs from running it.

Whiney and entitled to always get what they want. If they had nothing more to show from Diablo but Immortal at that event, it’s not their fault. At least "the fans" learned their lesson: curb your expectations, the world isn’t about you. Real people work on making games, it’s business and it’s presented when ready, released when it’s done. Blizzcon was never about one game anyway, it’s about the fandom, the community. Gamer rage is pure cringe, so is your last sentence.
