Bond 22: Quantum of Solace

I stand corrected. ( )

Still, it is a TERRIBLE title!

No worries, happy to educate. ;) :) As for the title, it's growing on me. Plus, it's a non-issue for me, as I'm more interested in the content and quality of the movie - I'd rather sit through a great movie with a weird title than a crappy movie with a cool title. :p ;)

A teaser poster for Quantum of Solace got released today... and looks like it's picking up straight from the final frames of Casino Royale...

Under normal circumstances, I am not a Bond fan of other than Moore and Connery. But this one, has caught my interest.

I'm very particular: I will go to Bond films only if they have somebody playing James Bond. If they have the Bond theme music and scenes with Q, so much the better. :)

This one qualifies so I'm quite anxious to see it.

Very good, nice dark tone...

...although this shot reminded me of the one in Bourne Ultimatum where Bourne jumps across the rooftop and through the window. Bond just crashes against a wall, which did make me laugh.

Just saw the film! I know most of you have to wait until the 14th so I won't gloat too much.

It's very dark, but not in an engrossing way (ala Dark Knight). It's more sombre, and weighed down. In fact, I'm not sure if I liked it.

There are some excellent moments to be enjoyed, but I wasn't blown away by the production quality or direction. As an espionage thriller it is easily outshone by the Bourne Ultimatum. Craig is pefect for the role, though, and he holds the screen extremely well.

I think this film will take some time to make sense. In a few years when we look back at QoS, we may think it was an important step in the development of the new Bond, and a brave move. For the moment, though, I'm just a bit bewildered. And maybe that's the point.

I really liked the new direction in Casino Royale
And I am very interested in seeing Quantum of Solace

I wish I could see it tonight... I'm in the mood
But alas, Nov 14 will have to be the date

I like the trailers... and I like the theme

Is that the US release date? S'a nice rarity, getting to see it before the Yanks :D

Going to see QoS on Sunday hopefully, I'll let you know what I think.

I just saw it tonight too. It was good, however I think I preferred Casino Royale.

I never seem to understand Bond films, too many villain character names to remember and what not. Or maybe I just have a short attention span.

Also, this one is just as bad for flashing everything Sony and Ford.

Nah, in RD, they "only" wore suits. 007 wears tuxes, baby. *drool*

You don't get PoD's point. They're all bad-ass posters. I don't think they have to wear the same thing to be bad-ass. ;)

And I agree with Scarface posters being badass. All Scarface posters look completely badass.

And for anybody who has already seen it: Lucky SOBs.

Saw it on opening day in Liverpool...all of my friends back in the states will be jealous for two weeks! :p

I definitely felt that it was lacking something...my friend and I agreed that the whole film felt like it was stuck at 6000 rpm in 3rd gear, raging with pace and action, but lacking that one last level of development. I never really felt engaged or surprised by the plot, or particularly interested for that matter. Too much back-referencing the romance plot from Casino Royale, which I haven't seen in a while (never mind that I don't really care about the romance plot lines).

Without revealing the plot, does the story carried on from CR come to a conclusion or will there be another instalment?
