You can tell how bad Bose are as a Company by the fact they’ve paid for a marketing shot of someone holding the handle - just in case you were confused about what portable means.

Yeah, truthfully I see the functionality of the handle with this Bluetooth speaker, and it makes complete sense, but it just looks so ‘off-putting’. If it was detachable, I think that would probably be something of an alternative versus actually those who don’t want need/want the handle. Just sayin Bose.

Yeah, I’ll hold out for Sonos Move. Already have Sonos throughout house and backyard, need portable one for camping. Bose trying to beat Sonos on announcement, but it really won’t matter cause Bose has no game on Sonos IMO.

I’ve been waiting for devices like these for a year. Love my Sonos, but am in desperate need of a Bluetooth speaker!

So excited to add one of whatever Sonos announces next week to my collection.

Bose - selling overpriced overhyped speakers for decades.
The thing is, audiophiles say they suck, but they actually don't, kinda like how techies say Apple's stuff is all overpriced junk. It's not like they have some marketing hype like Beats used to, and clearly people enjoy them. So I've long stopped listening to the supposed experts, just like I don't listen to every tech magazine telling me the Moto Droid X is the best phone along with the Lenovo Whateverthecrap being the best laptop.

Dunno about proper speakers, but their headphones work great and have usually had the best noise cancellation, which I know audio pros don't use in the field, but I just wanna write my code without hearing the lawnmowers. I bought a pair of wired ones cause they're a lot cheaper now. I listen to a variety of music, a lot of it classical, but none of it master quality. I'm not gonna pretend it's 500kbit/s FLAC.

Now, $349 for a speaker... yeah I'm not gonna pay for that.

I own the Revolve Soundlink+ and love it. The handle, while visually meh, is really quite functional. While I do use it mostly at my desk, I also love taking it on the go with me. I've used the handle to hang it from a back pack and a tree branch. Kind of crazy. Detachable would be nice but I'd hate to see that fail and lose $350.

As someone else asked, I wonder how the originally-named "Bose Portable Home Speaker" sounds compared to what I have. The wifi capability does place it in another category. Both have the same IP water rating (IPX4).

I have the Soundlink Revolve+ (similar to this, but lacks Wi-Fi). I've had it for about 2 years and absolutely love it. Wonderful sound, easy to connect multiple devices to, and very portable.

I have the little brother, the plain old Revolve. I love it, too. It's surprisingly versatile, supporting Bluetooth, analog, and computer USB speaker connections. Even sounds decent, much better than the JBL Charge 3 it replaced.

Their headphones are great! The Apple/Beats stuff in the same price categories is a total joke sound-quality wise compared to Bose.

I have the first version and its startling how loud it gets for outdoor use! In such a small package, the bass is pretty good. And I've never run the battery down. For what it is, a small boombox for out dooruse, its great, so this new version will probably be even better. For indoor, the Soundlink mini 2 still sounds damn good compared to other bluetooth speakers of the same size. I skipped the HomePod as I have a proper home stereo.

Sonos are launching their portable next week, it looks much nicer than this which seems to have been based on a bucket.

Looks like someone at Bose saw the leaked Sonos images and panicked. Funny how Bose announced a month prior to shipping but just a couple days after the Sonos leaks (and 3 days before the official announcement).

Yeah, they really thought about this when they designed this. Someone's gonna come up to the speaker and try to pour out some coffee only to find out that it's playing music instead. Brilliant!!
[doublepost=1566525797][/doublepost]Lol, this is funny. I shall buy the thermost
