Does anyone buy home stereo systems these days or do they just get a pair of smart speakers?
I must say, I'm not a fan of Bose, but since I bought my Soundtouch 10 they added a lot of features, for instance Spotify Connect. Can't say the same for Teufel, where they miraculously removed Airplay support for a 3 year old speaker. So bonus points for Bose there. Next time I would buy an Apple speaker I guess anyway. I think they sound better. When are they going to release the software update to make ALL of their sound touch speakers Airplay 2 enabled????!!!
I have Sonos Playbar and Sub, I’ve gotten away from complex home theater like I used to love.Does anyone buy home stereo systems these days or do they just get a pair of smart speakers?
Decent audio in the living room (Marantz and Dali), but for kitchen and bedroom these are nice speakers and good enough.Does anyone buy home stereo systems these days or do they just get a pair of smart speakers?
Bose does like almost 4 billion a year. What have you done with your company?
The thing is, audiophiles say they suck, but they actually don't, kinda like how techies say Apple's stuff is all overpriced junk. It's not like they have some marketing hype like Beats used to, and clearly people enjoy them.
Now, $349 for a speaker... yeah I'm not gonna pay for that.
I too have the Revolve+ and love it. I think I would order the this new speaker to see how it differs sound wise to the Revolve. Being AirPlay 2 enabled isn’t a huge incentive as I primarily use my existing speaker for outdoors and on the go. But am always interested in how these sound. It looks an awful lot like the existing Bose SoundLink Revolve+ (BT & USB) speaker, to which they've added WiFi (and AirPlay 2).

Yeah, they really thought about this when they designed this. Someone's gonna come up to the speaker and try to pour out some coffee only to find out that it's playing music instead. Brilliant!!
‘Does like almost’?Hard facts.
No Highs no Lows must be Bose!!!
That was old long before you even thought about registering here. Do keep up at the back there.
We like to call it "retro"...I'm I the only one who doesn't like BOSE style, their products alway look like 1970s radio shack to me.
3.8 billion. Fact.‘Does like almost’?Hard facts.
My home theater destroys anything like this and the receiver supports AirPlay 2. These are gimmicks for people who know nothing about audio, have no space, and/or see too lazy to have a proper home theater setup.Does anyone buy home stereo systems these days or do they just get a pair of smart speakers?
This looks as if it's a variation on the Bose Soundlink Revolve+, which does have an (optional, extra cost) charging dock. If you already have Sonos speakers in the living room, then the Sonos portable would be an obvious choice, since you tell it to be a left or right surround speaker and *poof* it's part of your (Sonos) home theater setup. The Revolve+ has a 3.5mm jack intended for connecting an MP3 player or similar (it can connect via that jack, or USB, or BT) - unclear if this new speaker keeps the jack (there's no mention of it and no pics show the back). If it only has BT and WiFi, hooking it up as a surround speaker would seem iffy unless you have, say, a Bose soundbar that specifically knows how to talk to it.It will be interesting to see how this and the Sonos version compare. As I said in the Sonos thread, I have recently purchased a second airport express (used of course) and was planning to use it on the porch with some permanent speakers (that I haven't purchased yet). This may be a better option as we could use it in the living room as a surround speaker when it isn't needed on the porch. If it doesn't have a dock like the Sonos, then I currently prefer the Sonos.

Don’t be too proud of yourself for highlighting an obvious typo.Tell us how good your joke theater is when you go to a picnic or tailgate or the beach. lol. You realize this is a battery powered bluetooth portable speaker, right?
