Other than the fact that there are no iPad 2's in the Boston area, Boston is awesome:p

I was on the hunt from Friday until this morning, until I finally convinced myself that I don't want one anymore since I have an iPhone 4 and an iMac. In fact, I spent 20 minutes with one on display in Braintree last night and was unimpressed by the pixely screen in comparison to my iPhone 4 (yes, I know...the iPhone 4's screen will beat any other one on the market due to it's insanely high dpi).

Basically, if you have the iPhone 4 and a relatively new Mac, fussing about this iPad 2 is really not worth it. Enjoy what you have and wait for iPad 3 which should be crazy with a resolution bump and better specs.

At the end of the day...it really is just a huge iPod Touch

Ok...I bought one and take this back:p The larger screen size does change the experience.:D

I was at cambridgeside galleria this morning, Thursday Mar 24 around 6am. There were about 12 people in front of me. I heard the guy at the front of the line got there at 2:30am. Between 6am and 7am there were a few more showed up, but the majority of people got there between 6:45 and 9.
Around 8:10, the apple employee came out with the tickets. I was looking for a 32g white wifi, but he said he only had 16g black wifi, so I ended up buying the 16g. From looking at the number of tickets he was holding, I think they had about between 70 to 100 tickets. I saw a number of people buying 2 ipads. Even when he got to the end of the line, which I think about 40 to 50 people, he still had about 20+ tickets.
I felt bad for the guy who got here at 2:30am because some people got here at 8:45am and they were still able to get a ticket to buy the ipad. I am glad I got mine today. Last week, I went to South Shore at 6:45am and was sent away because they only had about 5 or 7 ipads.

I went to the Salem Best Buy yesterday after checking the online inventory and got a 64GB At&T model.

I got there at 9:30a and was the only person there. They only had 2 in stock, but I only waited for like 30 minutes so that was lucky.

Got lucky..

I had pretty much resigned myself to not getting an iPad until my order shipped. I was at Burlington mall with the kids on Tuesday afternoon at 5pm and decided to take a quick peek at the Apple store. I said to the salesman "You don't have any iPads in stock, do you?" Lo and behold he had one ticket left for a 64gig Verizon. I was pretty surprised.

I bought my iPad 2 at the North Shore Mall (Peabody) on launch day. I didn't even get to the mall until about 6:30pm (on my way home from work), waited for one hour and got my black 32-gig wifi. Based on what they said about how long the line had been earlier at 5:00pm and how long it was for me, they must have had well over a thousand in stock that day.

I had tried the Cambridgeside Galleria at 5:00 and the line was ridiculous and chaotic. Glad I didn't wait, because another friend of mine did wait there and he lost out. Apparently they only had about 345 of them (my friend was 365 I think).

Anyway, I was back at the North Shore Mall around noon today to switch my iPad out for a new one (backlight bleeding). The were not selling them to people, but they did give me a brand new one so I know they have them in stock. They were telling people that they would be selling them in the morning.

Anyway, I was impressed by the North Shore Mall, and would go back there again. And they seem to get a lot of iPads.

Legacy Place Dedham Apple Store had a bunch on Wed. They were giving out tickets after when they opened at 9. I arrived at 8 and had no problem getting a 16 gb AT&T. Was 5 or so resellers at the front of the line buying 2 each with cash.

i was just at the burlington apple store and i saw two ipad2s being sold , i think they verizon models though , so im not sure what else they have.

Anyone know about the Boylston store? I'm looking for a 32gb AT&T. Best buy keeps telling me they don't have stock when I call. Should I just go in the store?

OMG,I call Best Buy Salem, and they said they had none.Better go there ASAP..

guys, any ipad2 in boson area today?

Now that I safely have my IPAD2 in hand I'm so much happier! :)

The Apple at the North Shore Mall seemed to have a good stock this AM for people willing to get there a little early. I got to the Apple Store at 7 AM and there were 6 people in front of me. By the time the lady came out to tell us what stock they had, there were maybe 25-30 people in line. However, today they seemed to have quite a few tickets to hand out and only a few people left empty handed.

They seem to have more of the 16 GB and 32 GB models. It may take a few trips to get a 64GB model. They didn't have them for the past few days but had some this morning. The good news is that at least for the past few days they've been getting shipments every day.

Burlington Mall was the place to be this AM.
I was number 18 in line and I snagged his and hers iPad 2 64GB ATT white and black. A matched pair!!! There were at least 50 or 60 in line..>Everyone got something. I had some scalpers behind me and it was SUCH a pleasure to snag the last ATT from them. I think one of them still managed to get 2 64gb white ATTs....but they thought I only wanted one and were asking me to still get 2 tickets.
This definitely makes up for last Sunday when I sat for 3 hours and saw the last ATT one go into the hands of a group of scalpers....and believe me they were not hiding the fact....they told me...nice people...but were being paid to be there at 4am.

Today in Burlington I got there at 710 am and by 920 am I was out the door with my 2 treasures!

I've still never seen any Target in the state change from "Out of Stock" on their website, Walmart is as useless as ever, Best Buy is almost as useless as Walmart, and I'm not taking more time off of work to go stand outside like an ******* every morning hoping I'll get one.

Hopefully Apple deems my launch day order worthy of shipment soon. Odd how stores are being refreshed with stock so frequently while people who went through Apple are getting the shaft.

Got mine at Target in Hanover on Monday after growing tired of the Apple Store mess. The Target tracker said Out of Stock for every store except this one. Granted, they only had 8 16GB black wifi's but luckily that was the exact model I wanted.

I was off that day and strolled in at 11am. No lines. Ghost town (it was eerie..haha). Picked one up for my girlfriend as well even though she was on the fence about getting an iPad 2. Now we both love them and are happy.

I've seen 1 Target (Salem I believe) switch from Out of Stock to Limited Availability once, but I was at work and couldn't leave.

I found that checking online at like 7am gives you a good idea of what store might have them.

Who's lining up at the Boylston St Apple tmrw??? I already have 1 but how can you not love the hype that you get while in line?

That's the first time I have heard someone gets a hype from waiting in lines. Lol. I wish I could be like you I could save so much money when flying. The only reason I upgrade is to avoid the economy check in, boarding, de-boarding, and baggage claim lines.

Cambridge and boylston are both completely sold out, even for exchanges.

I was at the Boylston Street store today around 12:30PM and the greeter told me they had the black 16GB Verizon and black 64GB Verizon in stock at that moment. I was popping in to buy a smart cover and they happened to have the elusive product (red) color. I think after the rush of this weekend, we're going to start seeing more models in abundance at all retailers.
