I was at WalMart in North Attleboro Friday night and they had 2 white 16GB wifi only in stock.

I just took a shot and went to Best Buy in Framingham and just walked in and asked for the Ipad2 3g 64gb in black and they had a few in stock. So I got one. I was shocked.

Walked in to same place this morning around 11 and was looking for same model. They told me that, while they had some units, they were all spoken for by people with reservations. macster70, what time were you there?

I'm at the Natick apple store. The guy at the end of the line told me that he's getting the last one. I asked the apple employee at the door and he said there were no vouchers and he has no idea how many they have. The guy insists that their names were taken down and everyone past him was told to go home.

Is he lying? Does the employee know what's going on? Am I foolish to stay and take my chances? There are about 20 people ahead of me.

Update: The guy in line was wrong, there were enough iPads past him. However, not the kind I wanted. There was one 32g black Verizon and several 64g white Verizons left when it got to me. Since I'm looking for a 16/32 wifi only, I passed.

Still waiting on my Best Buy reservation. They haven't received the 32g wifi since release.

Still looking for a 64 3G White ATT. After seeing "in stock" at a local Walmart a few days ago and being told that iPads were being recalled... I won't buy from Walmart. I was at Apple Rockingham today for something else and went a little early just in case. They told me the lines are still long during the week, often starting the night before. I ordered online last week, but now I've been iPadless for 2 weeks (sold my iPad1 on eBay), Im starting to have withdrawals. ;)

I wanted an AT&T model on launch day at Legacy Place, but they ran out, so I bought the wi-fi model. I was thinking about returning it to get the 3G, but it's really not worth it since I already have an iPhone. I figured I'd get a nice case with the $130 i'm saving. :)

Smart move. I have an iPhone 3, just came due for an upgrade so Im waiting for 5. Plus I have the Unlimited ATT plan. I waited in line for 4 hours in Salem on launch day and came up empty handed since I wanted the ATT version. Im not going to run around trying to find one, but if it happens then Im buying. Im glad I sold the iPad 1 when I did, got more for it than they are selling for now.

Anyone lining up tomorrow morning? I'll be passing by on Boylston street to check things out.

From what I understand from what others here have said, the Apple stores are putting their previous days shipments out the following day and Mondays would not be a good day to find one. Let us know if you score.

I was in line with you.... The ran out when I got into the store
So I got the wifi I wasn't going to walk out empty handed.
My plan is to sell it when my 3G gets delivered tommorow.
Do you think I can return it for a full refund?

Verizon 3G vs. AT&T 3G in Boston and MetroWest area

So slightly off topic but I'm wondering if anyone who has a Verizon 3G iPad in the Boston and MetroWest area can tell me how their coverage and experience is. I was hoping to get an AT&T model but got a Verizon one instead and am wondering if I should hold out and continue searching for an AT&T model or just go with the Verizon one. I have an iPhone 4 with AT&T and had an iPad 1 with AT&T 3G and was always satisfied and impressed with their speed, reliability and network coverage around these parts (I travel between Worcester County and downtown Boston for work). I've never been a Verizon wireless customer so any advice anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have Verizon service on my handheld, and its seems to load pages alot faster than my ATT iPad2. That's just my opinion though.

I'm in Boston this weekend and was thinking of picking up a 64gb WiFi if possible. Are there still queues at Boylston Street and has anyone got any ideas of availability these days?

Thanks in advance

Finally got one,

I used www.ipad2locator.com two days ago, it showed "available" at the Target in Westborough... I called and they had a few black 32GB wi-fi iPad2s so I drove there (about 30 min drive) and picked one up! Love that wwbsite!

Anyone seen any 64 GB white ATT models around MA or NH? Best Buy showed having stock in Worcester yesterday which is the closest, but got there and was informed that their online inventory is never right. Must be holding on to it for the big promotion.

I went to the Apple Store at the Chestnut Hill mall today at 7:30 am. There were about 20 people in line. Started giving out tickets just after 8:30 am. When they got to me, all they had left was the 64 GB 3G AT&T which is too expensive for me (I only need a Wifi 16GB). I can't tell if they had even received any Wifi models.

People still wait in line to get one? No life idiots.

Well...

Maybe they're standing in line after a jog to the store or like standing for health reasons...

Maybe they're reselling them (I don't support) and "have a life"...ie it's their income source.

I will say iPad 2 is sick and if I wanted one and didn't have it already (64GB 3G W), I wouldn't worry about posts like this when spending my cash to get one.

Best Buy in Portsmouth and Salem NH seem to have them regularly, though it depends on what configuration you're looking for.
