This is insane. Apple Pay is a huge joke. I cannot believe this. Plus the fact that i do not even know if there is a chance to call Apple and change the billing address to the correct one. Also why would hey allow the order to go through if the billing address is wrong?!

I'm chatting online with a rep (might be a bot idk) he says you will have to cancel the order if you want to change the billing address

The past three years my billing info and shipping info have always been different. Hasn't ever been an issue.
Granted, I am ordering a T-Mobile iPhone through the Apple site rather than att or Verizon.
So I just chatted with a rep and she changed both address for me! It might take some time to see the change but at least I don't have to worry about this anymore.

I had this happen a few years back. I'm on a family plan and it will only let you select the address of the primary account holder at checkout. Since I don't live with my parents anymore, this was a problem. A 15 min call with AppleCare got it fixed for me. I'm planning to call them later today since this happened to me again this year.

Yep I ordered a SB 6S and 6S+ T-Mo for use on ATT. Did it with the app and through Apple and it took less than minutes to complete both orders. Confirmation emails arrived almost instantly.

Who is your carrier? When I was chatting with my rep he said he would have had to cancel the order in order to change anything. The he said "Well you can wait until the card gets charged and if something happens and it can't get charged, you'll get notified and have the ability to change everything there."
I have att and I know I've ordered phones through apple and att without the card being an active one on the account and also having a different shipping and billing address. I just need to change my billing address because it's my old billing address and not my current one. Hence why I just need to update that to the current one and that's it. I don't understand why it's so difficult!!
Also att. I paid in full but I don't think that's the reason. Try to talk to another specialist and he/she might solve the problem.

Ordered last night and noticed the shipping address was different from my billing. Weird cause it's the same on my account info. Chatted last night and said I had to call it in. Just called and got the shipping address changed and just got the confirmation email. Still have a 9/25 delivery date.

Just confirmed. Shipping and billing address do not have to be the same as long as the billing address is the address on your credit card 🙂
Even though I used the default shipping address on my account, eliminating any margin for human error on my part, the address listed on the order had both the wrong zip code and the wrong box number. It took two different calls to Apple to sort it out. The zip code listed wasn't even a real zip code - in fact, it appears that it somehow took the box number for my address and used that as part of the zip code (again, I didn't enter any of this information manually, so it wasn't anything I messed up).
This for me. The charge for apple care has hit my bank account (pre-auth) and it's successfully in my orders and I received my confirmation email......to my work email address? Weird...I have no idea how this happened. My order is processing and I have the option to edit my billing information - but I am afraid if I do, it will mess everything up?

Mine is getting shipped to my Wife's parents house because she is still part of their Family data share package on AT&T... But I paid the taxes with my Credit Card that has my address for billing. I am trying to change the shipping address to mine but it keeps saying: "According to the policy of your wireless service provider, the iPhone in this order can only be shipped to your current wireless billing address. Other items can be shipped to different addresses."
Well... her parents will most likely both be gone all day so no one will be home to sign for it.... Has anyone with AT&T been able to switch the shipping Address to your address instead of the one listed on the AT&T account? I know there have to be other people that share plans but live at different addresses..!

Mine mine is kind of messed up. Put parts of my address on different address lines on the billing address, but the shipping address is correct, but for some reason it has my moms name (spelled incorrectly) on the shipping address but mine on the billing. Also thinks both phone numbers are 123456789

Yo! Good news. I just got off the phone with Apple and got my order changed. I may have told a little fib and said that my parents no longer lived at that address, but they got it changed to my address in another town. Best of luck to you!

Ok thanks! Hopefully I can get them to ship it to my billing address (my address) instead of her parents. I'll have to give them a call after work tonight.
I just got my billing address updated over the phone, no problem. They also were going to charge me for the full amount of the phone even though my order showed that I was on the AT&T Next plan. The first representative told me I would have to cancel and order again - F THAT! I called right back and the next person said they would get that updated and apologized for the error.

AT&T specifically requests the shipping and billing must match for pre-orders. Also, they have it where UPS must attempt to deliver once to the address on the order.
So your best bet is let them deliver it and leave a "ticket". Once they do this, you can monitor the tracking and go pick it up. From there you can go back online, and put the infonotice number in. It will give you the option to pick up that very evening.

This is NOT true. I had my 6 plus sent to another address that was NOT the address on file on the ATT account and this year, I was able to change the address to another shipping addy not used on the ATT account.....using Apple.

How did you go about doing this? any certain thing you asked/told them to get them to ship to an address that ISNT the at&t accounts address?? I want to get it sorted out as fast and easily as possible

I have at&t, and ordered through Apple Store App. The shipping address defaulted to my billing address... and I wanted it shipped to me at work.
The website, and chat would not allow me to switch the shipping address. However, they had me call 1-800-676-2775, and the rep changed my address within 2 minutes, no questions asked (outside of verification info).
