I am actually leaning the other way. I have always been iphone, (well since the first version) but ever since the loss of Steve Jobs I feel like Apple is playing catch-up. Doesn't seem to be anything new coming for the iphone. The iphone was the leader and no one could even compare, but now things have changed and I might test the waters so to speak. I still love my 2 ipads, my macbook pro and my macpro, so I am not an "apple hater" by any means. I am just disappointed with lack of fresh ideas coming from the new leadership. Give me something to be excited about besides a bigger screen that is still lower resolution than what is already out there.

That was probably bound to happen anyway to some extent. It's going to get harder and harder to improve/innovate on phones with each version that comes out. Even the mighty iPod eventually was tapped out because there is only so far you can go with it. I'm not saying Jobs not being here doesn't hurt them but they are faced with a very difficult task that gets harder every year. These iPhone announcements will most likely start jumping the shark at some point because every version is going to be less and less innovated. When that will be? Who knows but I im positive iPhone 10 isn't going to have the same coolness factor is when the iPhone 5 came out.

No *****?

You didn't need an analyst to confirm the launch date will be september 19th.
I knew it the moment the invite for september 9th was issued.

Apple always releases their products the second friday after the media event!!!!! (event usually taking place on tuesdays at the exception of wwdc intro keynote).

Peace :apple:

Impressive and accurate!

Now the million dollar question: Pre-Order available? Even if it's just for the 4.7 I'd be a happy camper (I want to try the 4.7 for a while before going to the super sized version... besides, if it's really better it'll be like getting 2 new iPhones this year if I evolve later =)).

If pre-orders are NOT available, it's going to be expensive to pay someone this year to wait for me from what I'm reading. It'll suck, but hey, it's only money, I can always make more.

I really, REALLY hope they allow 4.7 pre-orders, and make people wait in line for the 5.5 (like they did with the C/S split last year).

Less than 24 hours!

Here's a tip:

Don't try to get one on the first day.

Not only will you face less pain dealing with long lines and waits and such, but if you wait even a couple weeks you'll be getting an iPhone 6 with possible last minute manufacturing flaws fixed.

That was the case for the iPhone 5 (remembering the damage on the chambered edges?) and probably will be the case here too.

Or,pre-order and beat every long line. Also,if my day 1 iPhone does have a defect,it's got a one year warranty that they'll honor in any apple store.

At first I thought that this would be a bad mistake but if Apple dumbs down the 4.7” model most hardcore people will just tolerate the larger size. But I think the question now is will Apple introduce the 4.7” at $200 and the 5.5” at $300?

no chance the 5.5" launches the same time, even with limited quantities

there have been ZERO fully assembled and at this stage millions of iphone 6 should have already been fully assembled and ready to ship out to the world

Is anyone actually waiting for the 5.5inch iPhone?
I really cant see the lure of such a big phone tbh.

With the way the iPhones are designed i just cant understand it.
Other phone manufacturers, mostly combine the big screen with as small edges as possible.
But the iPhone design keep the top and bottom area the same size, and it uses a pretty big round button.
So the 5.5 inch is just gonna be huge really.

THIS

My bet is they will announce both, with the 5.5 shipping "later this winter/spring 2015" to coincide with the watch launch.

I hope I'm wrong because it would increase the odds of the 4.7 being pre-orderable, but the 5.5 would be a BIG surprise even in limited #'s because you are correct: ZERO fully assembled units, and really only "hints" of it's existence at this point.

Based on the amount of intel we have it feels months away.

If we're wrong, it was a great job of hiding it by Apple.

Both 4.7-Inch and 5.5-Inch iPhone 6 Models Reportedly Launching on September 19

If this is the case, then I'll be getting the 4.7", regardless of the 5.5" specs.

That's what I think too. Most people in this thread seem to treat this rumor as a fact but it's anything but. Almost no part leaks for 5.5 are a sure sign that its production is behind that of 4.7. And apple can't do to an iPhone what they did to the new Mac Pro.

Oh and BTW, nobody talks about it but RIP the c-model line. unless they plan to nerf the 4.7 model and turn it into 6c. Thankfully the 4.7 leaks suggest that this will not be the case.

If you order a 5.5…..

I'm on Verizon. If I ordered the 5.5 model and found it too big for my liking, can I return it and order the 4.7 model within a certain window without issue, does anyone know? Do they charge a restocking fee? etc….

I know, I can call Verizon and ask. Just wondering if anyone knows. I'm not one to buy and return phones.

If you have never had a phone as large as 5.5 before, don't judge it until you put case on it. The Note 3 doesn't seem to large until you see it in a case.

Just think of all the people that will buy one size, then for whatever reason they decide to change phones. Apple is going to get a lot of flip floppers within the first 15-30 days (whatever the return limit is) if they release them at the same time.
