Seriously.

Yes, seriously. While battery does degrade over time.

A lot of people don't realize how often they "touch" and activate their screens which are the most common reasons why battery drains. I gave her my 5S (sold her 5S a couple of weeks ago) since she thought her 5S battery was bad.

I get a good 6 or 7 hours of "heavy use" plus standby time. That's "heavy use". So I know my battery will last from 6am-5pm most days.

My wife is still getting the same 6 or 7 hours of real time use. But her phone is dead by 3pm. It's cause she on it texting, facebooking etc.

Real time use is the most important aspect of figuring out battery life. None of this overall time from off charger. Since standby time can vary so much.

Just look at Samsung's deceptive advertising about it's low battery mode. What they don't say is you can't even touch your Samsung Android phone to get those battery life results. It's not rocket science here with battery. I can leave my iPhone alone for 24 hours and it will barely drain 5% when almost all the radios are shut down and nothing is activating the notification.

Heck I went away for one week and left iPad air on. I came back 7 days and iPad air battery life was still 93% after 7 days. Crazy. And it was on. The wifi model

To everyone who got a 6 Plus yesterday and wants to swap it for a 6, how are you going to do this seeing as there's such limited stock? I was debating this yesterday when I got my 6 Plus delivered (from a pre-order on the Apple website) but the normal 6 has a 3-4 week waiting list on the website. Anyway, just wondering... :)
I exchanged mine yesterday about 5 hours after I got the plus. I wanted to do it right away yesterday since I knew stores would still have them. To say the least I'm in love with my iphone 6. The device is perfect for my needs and gourgeous.

I'm returning mine too for a 6 I woke up this morning and found it irritating I chat use it one handed with ckmfirt

I wish Apple had released the 6 Plus two weeks after the 6 so all you impulse buyers didn't waste everyone else's time buying a device you weren't even going to give a chance to get used to before you exchanged/returned it. I would love to have my 6 Plus in my hands right now.

Unless you have big hands anyone who bought a 6+ should have realized before they bought it that one-handed operation would not be easy. It will require two hands often. I'm seeing tons of people saying one-handed operation isn't easy and it's not but this thing is not unwieldy if you adjust your use to it rather than expecting it to adjust to your usage pattern.

I think 90% of these people who are returning them within 1-2 days only bought it because it was the iPhone "Plus", and plus means better in their minds. The actual size of the phone had very little to do with their decision to purchase it.

You can only blame Apple for doing this. They should have had demo units right after the announcement. People would have had 2 full days before pre-orders went live and another 7 days before going into the store to make a logical decision. The returns and exchanges are going to be massive just because of size. And people that really wanted the iPhone 6 plus will be screwed because people are returning them for the smaller units which apparently Apple made more of. But this will allow Apple to have huge sales and they now have plenty of refurbs for warranty swaps.
I was one of those people that wanted a 6 plus but after playing with both for an hour I went with a 6. Got tired of using huge phones so I'm going small on the go and using a tablet at home.
In all honesty Apple should have made one 4.7" model this month and then release the 6 plus in 6 months. This is one thing Samsung did correctly with the Galaxy and Note series. There was no arguments over which one to pick.

Here's the problem with your 6 months theory. iPhone hype is right now! Once you release the 6, you get that giant hype machine going and everyone buys the 6, the boards explode with macrumors newbies and whatever. When the 6 plus were to come out in say February, the market for the iPhone is saturated with 6 users who didn't want to wait.

You're comparing two really good situations. Steve Jobs always rightly said it's okay to cannibalize your own sales. However, you're losing some of the 6 plus markup if you limit the buyer pool with the 6 sales.

All of this is leaving out the obvious one or two year contract nature of cellular carriers (at least in the US).

Not true! When comparing my Samsung Note device to the iPhone 6 plus at the Apple store many people asked what phone I had. With so many people making fun of huge phones (including Apple) people brushed them off and never gave them a second thought. And so many of these people still have 3.5" inch phones. Many of you guys never gave huge phones a chance until Apple released it.
How many of your friends actually used a Galaxy Note for more than 30 minutes let alone a full day? With me being on Android since 2009 I've gradually worked up to 5.7"; it did not happen overnight. So of course people are going to be shell-shocked when they start living with it on a daily basis.

I love my 6 Plus.

My wife has the 6 and it just looks like more of the same. The Plus gives me a whole new iOS experience. I can understand how it isn't for some people, though.

UPS delivered my 6 plus arrived last night. I love the size right away. It's not nearly as massive as I had it built up in my mind. Going to give it a good test for pocketabilty today while I'm out and about town. Btw....I'm a guy and my phone lives in my pocket....so pocketability is key!

One thing I'll say: I had hopes that I could consolidate devices with the 6 plus. I currently have an iPhone, iPad mini Retina (99.9 % use it for consuming content: video watching on plane, etc...) and a 15 MBP Retina (mainly for work).

I was hoping to sell the mini and use the 6 Plus instead for my content consumption activities. For videos on plane, the 6 plus size will do nicely. However, for a portable web surfing device, it's still tough to beat the iPad mini R. I get a lot of "phone optimized pages with the 6 plus, where I get the full sites on the iPad mini (ie Delta, etc...).....makes a big difference to me....I prefer the full sites. Apps is another area where I prefer the iPad mini over the 6 plus. The 6 plus doesn't use iPad apps (I prefer many iPad apps over their iphone counterpart).

So, love the 6 plus....keeping it (assuming it passes the pocketability test). However, I don't think I'll be too quick to sell the iPad mini....They both have their place!

Hmmmm love these types of statements because they're sooo funny. 6+ is NOT an iPad replacemwnt no matter how many times people say it.

If u knew why make the thread? Simply add onto one of the many threads already made.

Agreed. It came out wrong. What the really meant to say is most of the streaming and multimedia I do is at home, on my iPad and I'm not looking to replace that with another large device. I wish the features on the plus (mainly battery and camera) were on the 6 but I made the choice to go with more portability for my everyday use.

That being said, if my hands were bigger I may be swayed. That and/or if I didn't care about a tablet. I think this device is a no brainierfor those who don't have a tablet. It's a fantastic cross of a device.

Your post, from what I can tell, has absolutely nothing to do with what I said but okay.

AT&T personnel told me yesterday they were expecting a high percentage of returns for the plus from pre-orders. They were ready for this and had a good number of 6's in stock.

To see as many threads as we do already about the Plus being too big this early in the launch cycle considering most that want one still don't have it, ...

I got the iPhone 6+but after playing with it for a day it just feels "annoyingly" big to me going to change it out for a iPhone 6 today.

Anyone else?

I have no facts to back this up, but I suspect Apple accounted for a % of buyers to preorder the 6 plus only to find out its more phone than they can handle, and it why availability was the minimal amount for a release. This greatly limits "buyers remorse" returns, which will be higher than usually because it was bought without any direct viewing or contact.

With both iPhone 6's out people can now make informed decisions and going forward people will buy what they like based on real hands-on testing.

No way I'm getting rid of my 6+. The screen is beautiful :). I use my phone for pretty much everything but the phone part so to me the big screen is much needed.

This is me as well.

It's also kind of pisses me off that these people with little hands bought a phone just because they thought it was the best meanwhile people who legitimately want it and will keep it have to wait until October/November now.

Sounds like you didn't check out the specs because "Plus" is better in this account. iPhone 6 plus has longer battery life OVER THE 6 and a 1080p resolution screen and the bigger screen. That does qualify as PLUS. :p

And you have no idea what plays a part in people's buying decision. How ridiculous to say that.
