Decided to go see what else they offered, and was NOT disappointed, albeit a bit surprised they ever made that turtleneck given their other clothes.

Here's their 2017 Men's Look Book... http://www.isseymiyake.com/brand/pdf/ME_2017ss.pdf

I like to imagine Jobs giving a keynote in something like No. 4 or No. 31, had he chosen differently while in their store.
I was looking at that catalog and thinking Jobs walked into clothing shops the same way he walked into tech labs:
Cut through the noise and find the one thing that works.

$270 for a Turtleneck? Will there be a $10,000 Edition version?
not at the moment but if they team up with Apple maybe there could be..?

All you need to do is...

Emboss the Apple logo on the inside of the turtleneck where the heart is,
and in white stitching that is only visible from the inside write...
"RIP Steve Jobs 1/56"

and make only 56 of those.

BOOM

Through secret channels, I managed to obtain some details about their upcoming products. Apparently the company is already working on a completely redesigned, modular turtleneck. It won´t be out for another two years.

The Turtleneck Pro(TM) will be machine washable, as opposed to the base model that has to be returned to the manufacturer for dry cleaning after each use.

The Turtleneck Sport(TM) will only consist of the sleeves and the neck. There are hints that this model will mainly be marketed to the "courageous" early adopters.

Finally, there will be the Turtleneck Edition($). This unique product will be hand crafted in a vacuum with laser-cut, 24 carat gold wires interwoven into the Rose Gold fabric. Finally the garment will be friction stir welded into it's new owner.

That's a slightly pessimistic attitude. Plenty of great jobs out there where you don't have to suit up.

As long as you don't look like a scruff, I think it's really important to feel comfortable in your own skin. Sure, there are lots of jobs out there where you can't rock up in a Game of Thrones shirt and jeans. But there are plenty of other jobs where you wouldn't much fancy being CEO yet can still dress casually and be on a really great wage.

There's a great deal more to life than lots and lots of money!

Exactly, I hired an enterprise architect who interviewed in jeans and a concert t-shirt. Great guy, brilliant, I couldn't care less how he dresses. He's not C-level in my organization but I think most people would consider him very well compensated.

I agree. You don't have to suit up to dress decently. But the poster you responded to didn't say anything about Nike trainers and baggy jeans, so the reaction was a touch OTT. They just said they pick similar outfits.

Granted, that could range anything from simple coloured tops to bright yellow "I love big ol' booty" shirts. But I think they just meant simple smart stuff. Similar outfits doesn't mean you look like a cheap nerd; well, I don't think so anyway :)

You're correct, I don't own a single "I love big ol' booty" top :p

I love the idea of Apple fans mocking the notion of a high-price, elite designed, designer product. The irony of it is lost on some of you.

Yes, there will be. It's in the pipeline. Probably see it in a few years.
Oh please, you know the problem holding up the Edition turtleneck is all Intel's fault.

No. 4 would work if you have the courage to pull off the look.
No. 31 is subtitled, "Accidentally leaves house in bad pajamas".
I'd pay an entire dollar to have Steve come return from the grave and do a keynote wearing his jeans and Seinfeld's Puffy Shirt.

What's next ? A featured article about is pants or sneakers ? At least also feature his underwear, and of course Ives dressing habits.

at this price I expect it to be bluetooth enabled and to come with an app to remind me how many times I wore it.

Does anybody know if the sleeves are soldered, or are they user-upgradable?

Hard soldered I'm afraid. With decalobed screws too. Yes, yet another tool to get into an Apple related product. I'd expect lots of glue as well...

It's interesting to see Jobs simple lifestyle for a choice of wardrobe, Yet how sophisticated of a individual he was.

He had lawn furniture in his first house, post Apple. When I think about that, he was a genius! Bed on the floor, genius!

On a related note, I was in San Fransisco over the time when he died. I decided to make a pilgrimage to the mothership since I was so close, and remember seeing my first Apple road sign, the one with the golden apple. The shrine on the lawn was already rather large. The weird, and bizarre part of that trip was that all I had packed for warmth, short of a large coat, was my Under Armour black thermal (heat gear) turtlenecks, and jeans. So I show up there, dressed like that, and a couple of people were giving me crap about truing to 'rip off' Steve's look. WTF!

But it was a very somber time, and I walked all over the place. It was quite a trip. I had read so much about the area, I thought I had been there before.

But iconic... He was that...

Never was into their clothes but had some of their cologne years ago. Good stuff

LOLOL $270 for a turtleneck???? HAHAHAHAHA.

But...Apple customers are the right demographic for this. They're used to overpaying for things.

Then again, pretty soon kids are going to be like: "Steve who?, I thought Apple was done by that silver-haired gay guy at the Pride Parades!"

I see Steve Jobs' spirit disappear from Apple with every (disappointing) keynote...maybe he's giving Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai innovation tips from the grave, 'cause Tim ain't listening.

I guess this was made on a bet - to see if there are really idiots who would spend this kind of money on a product worth far far less as long as it has Apple or Jobs attached to it.
