How dare they put a smaller battery in a smaller phone?
I've always found the 11 series too thick and heavy to carry around. I'm no power user by any means so battery has never been an issue for me.Or every phone in the line-up...
Okay, whoa! A BRAZILIAN certifications?! That’s A LOT!!
I'm fully expecting them to upgrade the battery next year and advertise it as a selling point.
You'd think Apple saving money on not including a charger or earphones would bump up the battery life to be better than the last release. You'd be wrong. In fact, its worse than the iPhone 11.
Sigh. It's the *Mini*. Right there in the name. I think people who are turned on by the idea of the smallest possible iPhone don't also think "please make it thick and heavy because my tiny phone must have a 2 week battery".
You seem to be making the point that a bigger phone can have a bigger battery.Meanwhile in reality...
The Sony is a 2700 mAh battery -- almost as much battery as the "regular" 6.1" iPhone. Not thick enough to weigh anyone down.
It's odd how people look at numbers and seem to make an inch out of two millimeters. Less than 10g is the same as "less than ten paperclips" in weight.
The S10e is considerably bigger than the 12 mini.Smaller batteries again... Apple doing the same mistakes over and over again. Smaller batteries are going to degrade faster. Seriously we are going to see again sub-3000 mAh batteries in a flagship ???
The 12 Mini battery size is ridiculously small... Samsung S10e, which is compact and light, has a 3100 mAh battery (and a mediocre battery life, but that’s mostly related to Android being less efficient).
6S wasn’t great battery life wise, but not even remotely comparable with iPhone 5...Same fiasco with the 6s. They shrunk the battery to make room for 3D Touch. I had to get a battery case just to get through the day.
Yes it is bigger, and I didn’t mean to have a direct comparison but just to provide for an idea... a slightly thicker iPhone 12 Mini would have allowed for a bigger battery ( around 2700 mAh ?). And the same applies to the whole iPhone 12 lineup. One thing I love about iPhone 11 Pro is the big battery, that incidentally didn’t lose much capacity over one year. The S10e is considerably bigger than the 12 mini.
Yep a physically bigger device would allow a physically bigger battery.Yes it is bigger, and I didn’t mean to have a direct comparison but just to provide for an idea... a slightly thicker iPhone 12 Mini would have allowed for a bigger battery ( around 2700 mAh ?). now they are going for smaller batteries AGAIN
I'm coming from a 7 (1,960 MaH) with 76% health. The Mini bumps it up to 2,227 MaH, but it's the smallest battery since the 8. Curious to see how the Mini performs in real-world situations and how much juice you can squeeze out of it with the A14
The point is the phone is practically the same size as the iPhone Mini, yet has over 20% more battery capacity. You seem to be making the point that a bigger phone can have a bigger battery.
Absolutely 2mm is not very much but the 12 mini is not 2mm thicker. It is what it is.The point is the phone is practically the same size as the iPhone Mini, yet has over 20% more battery capacity.
This idea the iPhone's mediocre battery capacity is somehow a necessary sacrifice due to the size of the device is just an Apple apologist's line. The Sony handset is just as pocketable as the iPhone Mini, the width and height being the important characteristics, and being essentially the same between the two. A 2mm difference in thickness is not enough to be seen as an "excessively thick" phone. In fact most people are not even going to be able to perceive a difference of 2mm in a dimension without actually holding it and focusing on it. A weight difference of 10g isn't going to perceived by anyone.
Anuba's post claiming an iPhone would have to be "thick and heavy" to have good battery life is malarkey. Maybe you guys need to up your standards for Apple's supposedly genius engineers.
Apple: I think I can make these thinner and lighter
Everyone else: [Groan] function over form please
The magsafe magnet really opens up a possibility of a great battery pack accessories. I’m not worried about the smaller battery capacity in the 12 series.
Imagine if you have a battery accessory like this. A super thin magnetic battery pack that you can easily stick on the magsafe to charge the phone, and a dock to charge those battery packs. You can charge 3-4 battery packs at the same time and grab them when you need more battery. Just stick it on the back of the iphone easily. I’m sure some companies like mophies and anker will come up with something like that.
Even the lightning connected battery cases are ugly, thick and heavy for the 1300mAH. Change lightning to wireless and it will be even worse.
It’s likely that the 12 mini will be the iphone with the worst battery life in years, especially with actual 5g usage.
