By that definition you must think Britney Spears is gods gift as she is commercially succesful too. Selling a lot of records is not a marker of how good you are. Microsoft sells a lot more copies of Windows than Apple does OS X. So which is better?

For the record. Elton was good when he started. he hasn't done anything decent since the eighties.

I wasn't implying that because he's had #1 hits he's good (Nitty, anyone?). But being in the top 40 for three decades is evidence that he can evolve his style and have staying power, rather than Britney who I predict may release one more album and then burn out. Anyone who can have John Lennon on his hands and knees bowing to him must be pretty good. And some of his later stuff like the Lion King soundtrack and Sacrifice is good, but yeah, most of the other stuff is filler.

Limp Bizkit, didn't listen to their last album much, but did anyone else notice the Apple ad inside the album? The last page had the "Think Different" ode and the logo . Wonder how much they got paid. Now that Wes Borland has rejoined I wonder what they do now.

And yes, Kurt Cobain and Layne Stayley were both good. Although it's annoying when I talk about Nirvana and Alice in Chains they go "Alice who?". And when I play any of it they just say "oh, 80s hair metal crap."

on topic: i think greenday has made some good contributions to the music scene early in their carreers, now though im not too sure, and as i have said be fore about Blink, good riddance!!

As much as I hate Lars as a person he is a good drummer.

Good drummers are hard to find in rock bands now a days. All they seem to do now is just keep beat instead of being apart of the music.

Screw all this new age skater punk, does anyone still listen to classic 80's metal, I find myself listening to that more now then the current stuff on the radio.
