I liked Brett Favre back in his heyday. It bums me out when athletes I (used to) respect do this egomaniacal BS.

Looks like we're getting our annual installment of "As the Favre Turns" The longer he keeps doing this, the more he's looking like a self centered, self absorbed attention whore hell bent on sticking it to the Packers..2 td's and 9 picks over his last 5 games last year....the Jets went 1-4 and missed the playoffs....torn biceps....has not had surgery to fix them yet.....he is doing the 1 thing he always said he wouldnt do.......he doesnt want to be the guy who held on too long......but that is exactly what he is doing.

Love the piccie and ... it and your sentiments are right on. Kudos!

Yea it will be scary IF Farve can throw 10-15 more touchdowns than interceptions with AD and Harvin to utilize. Not to mention that defense isn't half bad.

I seem to remember everyone saying how good he'd be with the Jets receiver corps when he signed last year...

To build a good rapport takes time with the players, over the offseason and through multiple seasons. Farve had a great year in 2007-2008 with a very young Packer team but he'd been in that locker room for many years, had a good relationship with players that knew they could count on him. Then the retirement debacle, which was equally the fault of Favre and Packers management. He didn't do a bad job with the Jets, and had he stayed there there would have likely been some improvement as his time with the team increased, however the yearly, late jumping ship will turn him into the next Terrel Owens or Randy Moss (the latter of which now seems tamed due to being on a team that doesn't need him on the field to have a shot at winning). If Favre keeps this up he'll just be another spoiled player causing controversy wherever he goes, of course that'll probably get him on the Cowboys in a couple years.

If only we had a QB... ;) :p

Jackson is a joke. Maybe if he put forth some effort he could be decent but he just doesn't try. However I don't know if Favre would be able to turn our team around, not to mention our next game with the Packers would turn into a riot.

I'm enjoying the soap opera. For a guy that tries to show he's one of those humble "aww shucks" kind of guys, he's been showing himself quite the attention whore. the writing on the wall about his longevity was there years ago, now he may be with a new team, a new system and a new set of receivers to get used too. I think he'll have a worse time with the vikes then with the jets.

nothing surprising here really. You had to know Favre would be back in the limelight. I guess I don't really mind. Good drama with the Packer/Vikes game this season.

Staying injury free is obviously harder as you get older, but Favre and the Jets were playing solid until he torn a tendon in this throwing arm. I'd be more worried about his health than him moving to a new team.

Lethal

Favre really seems to be killing his fan base by the year

If he wants to stay in the NFL, stop swearing he is retired

Stop lying to everyone

It's ok not to want to retire, but stop scamming people for retirement support to their faces then wanting to return a few minutes later

The local gossip is still flowin'

Local News (The #4) is reporting...

1.) Favre spotted this morning at a Starbucks in St. Louis Park, MN

2.) Favre put a $30K deposit down on an Edina, MN condo

3.) Favre and Childress have reserved a Tee-Time at a local golf course for this Friday

Just sayin'... ;) :p

Well this is and has been a done deal. I'll be watching the Green Bay/Vikes game.

Are you telling me to quit digging this thread up? :p

Well, nothings official yet, but it does seem promising... ;)

I'm just nursing this thread along until it happens (fingers crossed) ;) :p :)

No actually I think this thread can/should be the official place to discuss the Sunday results each week for him and the Vikes. As much as his constant retiring is wearing thin, I still think he's a better quarterback than 90% of the ones playing and if he can play not in a pain and produce...go for it.

But seriously, the next time he retires has to be the last. Unless of course he does one last year swan song tour with the Packers..but I think that ship has sailed until enough time has passed to retire his jersey.

I can't WAIT to see the packer defense pound the old guy into retirement for good :D:D:D:D
