That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.. It's their money and they can do as they please.. I love everyone's moral scale. To some in other countries your iPhone costs most than a years salary. Why don't you match that purchases with a donation too.

Or your macbook air,shoes,appliances,TVs... etc...

You're right -- it's their money. But to blow it on junk like this is just irresponsible, regardless of where you're from.

Anybody who would spend over 1 million dollars on this, which is a complete frivolous waste of money, is morally bankrupt. If you have that much money to throw away, you should spend it doing some good in the world.
People who make statements such as yours are myopic and binary in their small mindedness. Frivolous spending and charity aren't mutually exclusive. People can spend generously on themselves and help others at the same time. Someone up thread said it nicely. All the moralizing about excessive spending is pretty ironic on a site dedicated to Apple. None of us needs an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or an Apple Watch. Those funds could be used for "doing some good in the world." But we have reasons for our choices.

Would I buy something like this if I had the money? Hayellllllll naw. Would I judge someone else for doing it? Nope. I'm not that hypocritical. I buy stuff I don't need all the time. Just like everyone else. Doesn't mean I don't give to charity, volunteer my time, etc.

Moral high ground is so much easier for people when it is someone else's money! :p :rolls eyes:

Remove all the reason - to much money, bad taste, because I can, etc...The only thing I can say honestly is - Why?

Less than two months before Apple is expected to unveil its iPhone 7 lineup, Los Angeles-based luxury accessory maker Brikk has announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for diamond-studded and other customized versions of the smartphones, with prices ranging between $4,295 and $1.3 million.

Brikk's mockups for its Lux iPhone 7 appear to be based on leaked photos and schematics of the purported 5.5-inch iPhone 7 with a dual-lens camera system, and it also advertises other rumored iPhone 7 Plus features such as a faster A10 processor, 3GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of flash storage.

Brikk describes the Lux iPhone 7 as "the most opulent iPhone the world has ever seen," and offers three different collections:

- Standard: 10 different color options with multiple diamond logo choices. Scratch resistant matte or glossy finishes. Prices start at $4,295.
- Deluxe: 24 carat yellow gold, 18 carat pink gold, and 950 platinum options with Heptagon-shaped engravings and French enamel accents.
- Bespoke: Fully customized designs between the customer and head Brikk designer Cyrus Blacksmith. Up to 60 carats of diamonds. Priced up to $1.3 million.
Brikk states that each iPhone is disassembled, hand polished, prepared, and then plated with five layers of various metals and two layers of either 24 carat yellow gold, 18 karat pink gold, or 950 platinum. The iPhone is then reassembled and the precious metals are certified using laser and x-ray testing equipment.

The customized iPhone is then packaged in a custom Zero Halliburton case with a carbon fiber and suede leather interior, with the user manual and all standard accessories included in the box. All models come with a diamond-embedded certificate of authenticity and Brikk's sapphire glass screen protector.

Deluxe versions include Brikk's customized gold studio headphones, and other Lux-branded accessories will also be available, such as a matching gold and diamond power bank, car charger, world charger, and desktop dock. Each Lux iPhone 7, assembled in Los Angeles, includes a 1-year warranty.

Prospective buyers can fill out a form on Brikk's website to receive a Lux iPhone 7 catalog and price guide for pre-ordering. A deposit of an unspecific amount is required for pre-orders. Brikk expects to begin shipments 3-4 weeks after Apple officially releases the iPhone 7, which is expected to be introduced in September.

Brikk also offers the Lux iPhone 6s and Lux Watch, a diamond-studded Apple Watch that costs up to $75,000. See real-life photos on Instagram.

Gotta love all the morally perfect people here judging and telling other people how to spend their own money. Guess what, no one cares.

Who says we don't?

Well, this confirms that being rich does not mean you have good taste.

Why would it?

It depends how you came into your wealth. Obviously winning the lottery, marrying into it, inheriting it, stealing it, as well as earning it by a myriad of non-aesthetic related endeavors, would not require having any sense of style.

The other point is that how much you like these cases is really just a matter of opinion. I think the more objective point is that there are probably better ways to spend the money, but even that isn't truly objective.

Exactly. The 99% of the 99% of western Europe and the Americas would be the 1% of Asia and Africa.

It is amazing that so many people here think that "excessive" is anything they personally cannot afford. Speak of being judgmental, sheesh.

These are gaudy, but to some people in the 3rd world an iPhone itself would be gaudy. To others any cellphone would be gaudy.

Yeah... I mean this is like those people who spend money on an Apple Watch they could have donated to charity. Morally bankrupt I tell ya!

It doesn't concern me, as I clearly don't have the spare cash for this sort of stuff, but I'd expect something that's less Paris-Hilton-on-crack-looking for this price range.
lol. For some reason Paris Hilton did come to mind when I saw these.

My issue with these is that they don't look all that different (in the photos anyway) from those gaudy mirrored cases studded with fake plastic jewels that I see on Amazon from sellers in China. I think those cases are fine if you want a dash of whimsy and a few laughs for a day. They cost a few dollars and last about half as long as most people keep their iPhone.

If I could spend that kind of money on an iPhone I want it to be able to function as a transporter and beam me to over to visit my relatives in Europe and Asia. ;)

I'm sure they look much better in person, cause from those pics they look like cheap iPhone cases

And why is this newsworthy?

Cause there is very very little happening when it comes to apple. They need to post something daily....site is powered by ads, so news stories need to flow even with all is quite with apple.
