Hi everyone,

I dropped my iPhone 6 and smashed the screen, after putting it in to get the screen replaced, apparently they found the motherboard to be damaged - the iPhone still works and loads, however, the touch screen function will no longer work... So the problem i now face is that i can't enter my pass code (which i know) in order to complete a backup, etc... Last back up was 3 weeks ago, so this doesn't really help me...

I'm hoping there is some software out there that will let me type the passcode into a computer and unlock my iPhone, cause there is no other way to type it in directly on the iPhone...

I just had a family vacation in Spain and would really like to recover the 1000 photos i took, I don't mind sending it to the US (I'm in Trinidad) to a specialist but would obviously rather do it myself using software if available...

Any help or advice would be much appreciated...

Thanks

There's no way I'm afraid. I'm skeptical the motherboard was damaged in a way that resulted in the digitizer pins to break on the board besides someone doing it trying to fix the phone. I would try another screen

Not possible to enter in a Passcode via software. That very same thing was part of what the FBI wanted to be able to do for that San Bernardino case.

Is it still possible to backup to iTunes without entering a passcode?. You could then restore it to a new device, as well as import your new photos into Photo.

I don't know why it wouldn't be. I've backed mine up without even touching it before.

The only way to backup in iTunes is by entering the passcode after it is connected. If you can't enter the passcode the only way to gain access to the phone is to connect to iTunes, put in recovery mode, and restore to factory default. You will need your AppleID and password to set the phone back up, and restoring will erase all content and settings. If you had iCloud Photo Library enabled you may have your photos available on iCloud.com or Photo stream if they were uploaded within 30 days. If you've used any of these settings prior to cracking your screen you should be good.

I just had the same problem.
You will need a lightning to camera adapter (USB)
A USB keyboard
Plug it in and type your password
P.S. Took me over a year to figure this out.

[doublepost=1500332822][/doublepost]Hi Michael,

Can you provide a bit more detail about how to do this? what is the role of the lightning to camera adaptor? I do have a usb keyboard I could plug my phone into.

thankyou!

If it's connected a computer you normally use, why can't you just plug the iPhone in and drag all the photos to the computer? No need for a passcode.

That doesn't seem to work. even if you plug in your computer, you still need to enter passcode.unless you have unlocked the screen passcode ,
