Oh don't worry. I have no desire to cross the Atlantic any time soon.

Enjoy your (fake) Bud, bud

BTW, what is it with you Yanks? A criticism of your beer (and food) isn't a criticism of your entire country. Wierdo :p

If you don't like Budweiser tha's great,,, I have many beers I don't like , but when you said this,,,,
Hopefully they'll close the Bud breweries and have them all brewing European beers. Then we might be able to buy a decent pint when in the US
thats just wrong,,,,,,, if ya don't like Bud Beer,,,,, dont drink it but for you to wish they close all the plants so they can brew real beer,,,,,,, well read the last reply.,.,.,.,

So what I said offended you, but when he said is ok? [etc]

I wasn't offended in the slightest. I was somewhat surprised you took the line you did after I made a joke, that's all. And I'm not saying for a minute that it's OK to point insults at anyone - it was clear as glass that it was a joke, a joke that you seemed (to me anyway) not to get from your original post. Hence my rather sarcastic first post in the thread.

:)

I think it'd be a bad thing for Bud to disappear, despite my dislike of the drink. What would all the underagers drink? :D

Budweiser isn't real anyway, the REAL budweiser (Czech Beer) is a lot nicer, sometimes called Budvar in the UK / Western Europe to save confustion, however they do have rights to the name Budweiser in Europe.

However, the company that makes it is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch, so although the beer is the real Bud the rights to the name thing is immaterial.

well I'm kinda lost with that,,,,Buds not real thing. I just picked up a 20 pack.,.,lol.,.,.. However I did read yeaserday on Bubweiser.com that Budvar has nothing to do with Budweiser or the Bush family. As far as the rights,,, well I no nothing about that but Don't they sell Budweiser in the UK / western Europe ?
If so how does the rights to the name deal work?
Thanks.,,.

they have a recent agreement that anheuser busch is marketing Budvar in the US (not for free though)
apart of that they are not connected

the US Anheuser busch beer is sold as "BUD" in europe since they can't call it "Budweiser" since the two chez companies have the rights for that

I wish there was a forced breakup of InBev and Miller-Coors-Molson, it's getting sad to see all these breweries becoming huger than ever.

In Canada.. almost all the big breweries are owned by companies from other countries, Molson's "owned" by MillerCoors, Labatt's owned by InBev, Sleeman (makers of the Unibroue La fin du Monde beer) is owned by Sapporo.. how long until Sapporo gets bought up? Moosehead is the largest Canadian owned brewery now.

I wonder when Miller and InBev will merge ;)
