Hey wondering if somebody can help test something for me. I submitted a bug report to Apple (Bug ID #: 17132795) titled "Spacebar fails when using external keyboard and Chinese handwriting IME"

An Apple engineer has come back and asked me to verify whether this issue still exists in iOS 8 beta 3 but I don't have access to any development units.

Can somebody running it please try the following steps below and letting me know if it behaves correctly or not?

Equipment required:
1. iOS device with iOS8 beta 3
2. bluetooth keyboard

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set iOS device on-screen IME to Chinese handwriting
2. Connect an external physical (bluetooth) keyboard
3. Open Safari
4. Visit any website containing form fields
5. Select the form field
6. Press Spacebar on the physical keyboard (success)
7. Enter any other alphanumeric characters (success)
8. Press Spacebar on the physical keyboard (fail)

Expected Results:
Spacebar should type a space character after the alphanumeric characters, but it doesn't.

Actual Results:
Spacebar does not add a space character after the alphanumeric characters

About iMessage bug, i think it has to do with apple servers. Because on iOS 7.1.2 sometimes send SMS instead of iMessage message.

But does it happen everyday for you? It usually happens to me around 2pm central to like 9pm central. Very strange for sure.

----------

Is anyone having the issue with iMessage where if you text from ios 7 device it works, and then you try to send on ios8 device, it doesnt send or you cant receive any messages on the ios 8 device? This happens to me everyday. I dont receive any imessages after this and i have found no resolutions. It just stops and starts working on its own at a later time.

Having the same problem like you with iMsg, don't receive them on my iPhone iOS8 but they are received on my iPad iOS 7.

played around with some force restart and deactivating and activating iMsg until it worked back again, but still not perfect!

I have a pretty big bug. It appears as though B3 has borked any of my previous icloud backups. I wanted to restore my 5s back to 7.1.2. When I did so and tried to restore back to my backup from 7/8 (done right before I put B3 on the phone). It said the backup could not be restored. So, I then did another reset on the phone and tried a second restore point from the day before (7/7) and again the restore failed. So, then I put B3 back on and tried the most recent backup and it worked just fine.

Any thoughts/ideas on this?

You cannot restore a backup made on a new version of iOS to an older version. Meaning, you cannot restore a backup made on iOS 8 to iOS 7. It's always been that way.

I guess I need to be a bit more clear on this:

1. I made an icloud backup on 7/8 of 7.1.2
2. I then upgraded to B3
3. On 7/12 I decided to go back to 7.1.2
4. I downloaded the official 7.1.2 ipsw from apple and did the restore
5. The restore finished as expected and the phone activiated
6. I tried to restore from an icloud back and selected the 7/8 backup
7. I received an error 'the device could not restore the backup'
8. I then put the phone into dfu mode and restored the phone again.
9. I then tried to restore from a icloud backup from 7/7 of 7.1.2 and that failed also.

My iPad (air, 32gb wifi) has a bug where it ran out of storage.

I had about 3 gb free and in a few minutes I had 0 bytes remaining. Deleted an app and still was at 0 bytes free.

When I went into settings. About. I saw I had 120mb free. Went back and then went into about again and had 115. Then it was "full".

Right after Beta 3 was released, I was psyched because it resolved a lot of the previous bugs that I had. But Beta 3 is still really buggy, introducing a lot of new bugs. Can't wait for Beta 4 -- I'm often rebooting my phone to clear out general instability.

So far since Beta 1, I've opened 58 bugs:
- 39 closed (37 resolved, 2 were duplicates)
- 19 still open for
* 13 Apple apps
* 6 Third-Party Apps

Of the 19 open bugs, 14 of them were opened in the Beta 3 build, and 5 of them existed in Beta 2.

Anybody else get constant crashes when trying to do anything in the App Store? Every time I try searching for anything it just closes.

iCloud account description can't be changed!
[Running iOS 8 Beta 3 on an iPhone 5S]

I've looked everywhere in the settings for my iCloud account but don't see a way to change the description.

I tried looking for the option under both Settings>iCloud and Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. In iOS 8, both options go to the same iCloud setting screen that lacks a description field. It still displays my custom description (that I created in iOS 7) in the top bar.

The description field is only missing for the primary iCloud account. Secondary iCloud account options are unchanged from iOS 7.

Most of my App Store crashes occur when trying to download, although there are instances when simple searches have crashed the app.

As with most iOS Beta issues, try 'Reset All Settings' in Settings>General>Reset.

When I first used iOS 8 Beta 2, switching from one app to another always caused the second app to crash. The only way to go from app to app was by visiting the home screen first... that was so much fun! It also made links to the YouTube app 100% useless.

In the end, 'Reset All Settings' fixed the problem.

So I have a pretty massive bug
And has been getting worse and worse

I have lost use of the phone,
I can make phone calls.
And hear people when they talk.
But they can't hear me.

Siri can hear me when I use it
And FaceTime works,

But phone calls, are a no go

Do calls work using speakerphone and/or a headset?

facetime

When I am facetiming someone on my iPad Air it does not fullscreen the video of the person I am facetiming and when I try and move the video of me the video moves the opposite way to my finger movemnet.

Also bug reporter app crashes every time i open it.

Hand off no longer works for my iPhone 5s, :( although it does with my iPad Mini and MacBook Pro.

Was working properly in Beta 1 and 2 for my 5s.

Any Suggestions?

Sure they have all been posted and documented, but b3 is very much the worst beta i think ive used

1) downloading an app from the app store, the phone and iPad restart themselves
2) Still have apps waiting to download after restore, and fresh restore (3 days of waiting), unable to delete them
3) Random restarts which on every restart stops notification centre settings (ie no notifications on apps etc)

Hopefully b4 comes out soon

Seems like I've been fortunate then. 'Random' iMessage problems and minor gui glitches.
And the bug reporter won't let me report!

Looks like I might be able to keep iOS 8. :)

(iPad 3rd gen, wifi)

Here is my interesting new one I just cannot figure out and I am hoping that someone has an idea. This past Monday, the traffic conditions within the today tab of the notification center suddenly stopped appearing. I checked the settings of the notification center and it is set to include them. Under 'settings>privacy>location services>system services>traffic' is set to on and the gray location services icon is appearing on it which does mean it is working. Siri is set to be able to be access from the lock screen. I did a full restore just incase but that hasn't helped. Any ideas?

iMessage not working here. Says waiting for activation. Rebooted also turned on and off iMessage and still not working. Also reset network settings to. Anybody have any other ideas?
Thanks

This happened to me, I used an iTunes backup to downgrade to iOS 7. Once iCloud makes an iOS 8 backup, it won't let you restore from any of it's backups on iOS 7.

Sorry, but can't duplicate any of these on my Air or 5s...

Most of these have probably been mentioned already, but I don't backread, so I apologize in advance.

1) Safari crashes when I click a link that opens in a new tab

2) The App Store crashes whenever I search for an app

3) Headphone music controls don't work

4) In the music app, on the now playing screen, when you change the orientation from portrait to landscape then back to portrait, the bottom menu bar appears
