C'mon, when will there be carplay for BMW's? I don't care for ugly, cheap american cars.

I would trade my BMW in for a Tesla ANY day..... BMWs have the worst interface, and the connected drive is a joke. Great drive though! I don't enjoy driving too much because I'm usually stuck in traffic...

That photo was taken at the Natural History Museum of Utah in Salt Lake City :)

Don't know which iDrive you're talking about but the newest one is awesome and the interface is a joy and ease to use.

Sorry, if you base you car buying decision on whether it has CarPlay or not there is something wrong.

Why can't someone have CarPlay as a buying decision, why does it offend you so much? I have a number of things I'm looking for in a new car and yes CarPlay is one of them. Technology is becoming an ever more important part of a car and I want the best, as in something built my Software people, not car makers!

Wonder if the 2016 models from all participating manufacturers will include a software update for wireless CarPlay in the future, as I'm pretty sure the 2016 models will all require a wired connection. Correct?

Have you ever heard of a car manufacturer other than Tesla offering easy, free software updates? I haven't. I know Honda offers $100 software updates for their cars - you order them and they show up on a DVD in the mail. I know other manufacturers let you bring them into a shop and they'll charge you similar amounts for them to update the software for you.

This just in:
Barbie & Ken Roadster to get Carplay.

That is how important these threads are. MR you can do better. We get it there will be more and more cars with it.

BTW: Never saw the San Francisco Apple store report. Millionaire's wife sues Apple for profiling her daughter, because she was black and had a black AMEX card!
Last week.

I lease my vehicle's so do not make any modifications. The stock player is actually important for this reason. It is a must for my next car. That may be wrong to you, but it is important to me. The car I have for 24 months pretty much stays as is from the day I get it.

Before anyone says it.....I do not need advice on leasing vs buying or how people think it is a waste. I like to have a new car every few years and never worry about maintenance.

or when your country (USA or Canada) is almost the same size of 20 European countries COMBINED, road conditions are quite different especially outside the city and bigger vehicles are definitely an asset.
Yeah, well for 99.99% of Americans that would be just rationalization. Lots of big trucks here in Florida for example, and for no reason other than most people couldn't fit into a smaller car. They'll try to justify it by saying they need to haul stuff, but for those rare occasions it's far cheaper to rent than buy.

My BMW is only good in Vancouver, take it to Alberta during the Winter and you see how bad BMWs are in winters (surprising as they claim they test them in Scandinavian countries).

Did you forget to put winter tires on it? Drove a BMW through WI winters for 8 years straight. I didn't drive off road through snow drifts as that would be daft--Stuck to the roads as usual.

Not offended, but one would think a cars mileage, reliability and maybe other features would come before carplay is even important?

Realizing that everybody has a different way of buying and using cars. The way I buy a new or used cars carplay will never be a selling point to me. Hook up my iPhone in the car: DONE!
But, then that's just me. I drive my cars until they no longer work. 200,000 miles on my current one and still going strong and an American car to boot.
Go figure:)

I think these should be re-classified as boats. The space they take up parking etc. especially in lots with smaller striped parking spots is ridiculous.

Yet, Americans continue to purchase them in record numbers. Gas has to be back to $4.00 + per gallon to change mindsets. Maybe even higher now that we are so accustomed to $3.00 as the norm?
