What I want is an affordable CarPlay upgrade option for my existing car, something you can update the software (when needed) via wifi while parked in my garage at home.

Sorry, if you base you car buying decision on whether it has CarPlay or not there is something wrong.

This just in:
Barbie & Ken Roadster to get Carplay.

That is how important these threads are. MR you can do better. We get it there will be more and more cars with it.

BTW: Never saw the San Francisco Apple store report. Millionaire's wife sues Apple for profiling her daughter, because she was black and had a black AMEX card!
Last week.

Who said anything about it being the only criterion? It can certainly be *a* criterion though, especially if you are deciding between a few models and some have it as an option.

You're trying to paint it as a binary choice when it's clearly nothing like that.

These threads may not be important *to you* but you are not the only audience for MR. I personally do not care at all about the retina Macbook or the Watch or the iPad Pro, yet I don't claim to be the authority on what news on this site is "important" - I don't have an inflated sense of self-importance that makes me think I know what's best for a large news site.

One of the things you could easily do if CarPlay posts are not important to you is press two fingers on the trackpad and drag them upwards. This will scroll the window and allow you to see the next news item. If that one isn't to your liking then you can repeat the gesture and the page will keep scrolling. When you reach a topic that interests you then you can left click on it and then you'll be able to comment on that.

I can only assume you arrived in this thread accidentally since if you don't care about it I'm not sure why you'd open it and comment in it.
