Building a 3D Video Template app from scratch

Hey everyone,

I’m a product designer and over the past months I’ve been building THR3EZY, an iPhone app for creating short 3D videos directly on your phone.

The idea came from wanting something between a simple template app and a full desktop 3D/motion tool. I wanted to be able to throw in my own photos/videos, place them on actual 3D objects, animate things, move a camera around, add text/effects, and get something ready for Reels/TikTok without opening Blender or After Effects.

THR3EZY has:

• Editable 3D scenes and objects
• Your own photos/videos mapped onto 3D objects
• Groups and animated layouts
• Camera movements and custom camera animation
• Object animations
• 2D typography tools
• Lighting, HDR environments and materials
• Depth of field, CRT, glitch, fisheye and other FX
• Ready-made templates that you can completely take apart and remix
• 1080×1920 / 60fps video export
• Snapshot export for individual frames

A big part of the app is that templates aren’t flattened videos. When you open one, you actually get the scene: objects, camera, animation, materials, text, etc., so you can replace the media and modify basically everything.

I built the whole thing myself, and it has definitely become a much bigger project than I originally expected 😅

I’d genuinely love feedback from people who work with motion design, 3D, social content, or just like experimenting with weird visual tools.

Curious to know what you’d want from a “3D motion graphics studio in your pocket” — especially anything that would make you actually use something like this instead of reaching for a desktop tool.
