Imagine how people would react to someone posting something like this on a luxury watch forum.
If people aren’t going to put a protective case on a $5000 Omega Speedmaster or a $15,000 Rolex Submariner, I don’t know why anyone would advocate for putting one on a $400 Apple Watch.
My stainless steel Apple Watch Series 6 survived a 100 kph motorcycle crash and an 80-metre slide down the road with zero damage other than a barely perceptible scuff on the screen. My aluminium Series 0 and Series 3 watches survived years of use and abuse with barely a scratch. The titanium Apple Watch Ultra that’s been sitting on my wrist since last September looks brand new, and I haven’t exactly been babying it.
I have a case on my iPhone, because it’s a glass sandwich, and I drop things. I don’t have a case on my Apple Watch — never have, never will.
