This is just a friendly reminder that you should protect your Apple investment with a case. This applies to iPhones as well. Today, I accidentally smacked my Apple Watch against a door at work. It cracked the glass. The glass of my case that is. I would have freaked out if I did that to the face of my Apple Watch. A cheap case with tempered glass saved my watch. Stop being stubborn and just buy a case already!
Never! I like my phone to feel svelte in the hand. 😎

And you’re probably wondering how many phones I’ve broken. 2. The OG because I threw it on concrete, but it still worked until I could get the 3G. The other was iPhone 4 in black. But I wasn’t too upset because I wanted the white one. So I used my old 3GS until the white i4 came out.(I used my mom’s upgrade.)

Don't see where you say which Apple watch you were wearing. I have had every Sapphire watch Apple released. Whacked them against everything with not a single scratch.
I must agree that the sapphire is extremely durable. I had a series 3 aluminum that I babied, but when I got a series 4 ss I was rough with it. Not one scratch. Great resale value, too. The series 6 in aluminum I have now looks like it’s been put in a blender. Will undoubtedly go back to sapphire for my next one.

It depends what you’re doing with the watch though. The aluminium Watch will suit the majority of people and not everybody cares if it gets a few scratches. It’s a smartwatch so it will have a short life, probably 5ish years and the stainless models tend to lose more percentage of their value in depreciation compared to the aluminium models for those bothered about resale value.

Please can you post pics of the S6.

I have AC+ on my AW. So in the event I knock it on something or my toddler gets a hold of it, I’m covered if anything happens to it. I can’t fathom putting a case on my AW.
I had the 2-year version from purchase and used it once for replacement. Just let it lapse thinking it might be time to upgrade if I shatter the screen again.

I would like to see your Apple Watch case, or just post a link, thanks!

I have a clear soft case on my gold iPhone 12P because I am older and it makes it alot easier to grip. I got a AW5 in SS with the gold finish to match my 12P. The "gold" aluminum was awful, the polished gold SS was beautiful, it is my one piece of bling. The SS watches have a tough screen, and the polished SS has not scratched all, worth the extra $400, plus it has cellular capabilities.

My grandma does this with sofas. Every time she buys a new sofa, which is once in 30 years, she covers it with ugly protective blankets. Because of that she never fully enjoys her sofas.

IMHO if it’s an investment for you, e.g. a tool for your work that makes you profit, then I suppose it’s worth protecting with an ugly case. But if it’s something you buy to use and enjoy for yourself, as an consumable, isn’t it a little bit silly to be overprotective with it, as you won’t really enjoy it fully. Especially with Apple products when hardware look & feel is so important part ot the experience.

I use a case with my iPhone XR. Not because I want to protect it per se, but because that thing is so damn slippery it’s unusable without a case.

Yup.

I had a series 4 for 3 years and a Series 7 since they came out. Never got any scratches on the body and only one tiny scratch on the screen corner that you have to hold at an angle to see. Never any broken screen. I workout with the phone and do gardening while wearing it. No problems. Not saying that it could never happen but it doesn’t seem to be a common problem and I’d rather take the small risk than clutter up the Watch with a case.

iPhone? Always since 3GS. Too big a glass surface on both sides by now.
Apple Watch Ultra? Nope. Not on previous S4, S5, S6 or S8 either. Always had the plain Alu version until AWU.

I think this one pretty good for the ultra watch

I've had the Ultra since launch (about 8 months) and wear it 24/7 except when I charge it and I have yet to have it show a single mark on the body or sapphire glass. I don't baby it and I have hit it against stone and edged metal.
