All units of Ipad Air 2 vibrates? Thats why I am still undeciced. I dont want to buy an Ipad that vibrates.

I was this close to buying the iPad air 2.

Then I went home to order it through Apple.
In the process, I picked up my iPad 4.

Then I realized...I don't need a new iPad...

My own opinion about this is probably different from most of the things I read here.
Does my Air 2 'vibrate'?
I guess... But I don't notice it much, if at all. I have a case on mine, and maybe that dampens whatever vibration there is. But I don't hear it.
My expectations are probably different. I don't expect full fidelity out of speakers this small on a device as narrow as the iPad.
Again, I said 'narrow', not thin.
How far apart are the speakers on any iPad? A few inches at most.
How small are the speakers on any iPad? Pretty small.
When I listen to video or music on my iPad and use the built in speakers, I don't expect Carnegie Hall...
If I want better sound, I use a Blue Tooth speaker, or I use a line out to a better quality speaker.
Please don't misunderstand- I'm not slamming anyone whose speakers create an unacceptable level of vibration, nor am I suggesting that Apple shouldn't make anything but the best sound quality available in the iPad. It's just not something I really notice and it certainly doesn't make me like my Air 2 any less.

Well if all units of Air 2 vibrates, I probably won't buy it

My Ipad is pretty terrible ... battery life is not good, also the sound is not so good.... After IOS 8 is so buggy my ipad. Hope that 12 inch ipad come in April . I can't stand anymore with this Ipad 4.Its so heavy....

That is generally true. However, sometimes Apple keeps the previous gen model available but drops the price... like the iPad mini 2. If that should happen to the iPad Air 2, the resale value won't be so great.

That WILL definitely happen to iPad Air 2. But normally you can only get model with the basic storage capacity (ie. 16GB) which is not sufficient for majority of users. If you own 64GB or 128GB iPad Air 2, they will have better resale value.

If you wait for next gen, you will need to wait for a week or 2 after its announcement before it's released to stores. Then you might have to wait for a month before you can actually get the unit unless you are willing to queue in a long line to be an early owner. Another problem is if the new ipad has new design, we will need to wait for some weeks before new types of cases be available widely.

I would suggest getting the Air 2 now. It's just 4 months after its release. Not too bad.

Yes but it's not a huge deal your making it out to be ...I don't notice it much any more at all

I have waited long enough that I may7 as well get the pro as soon as it comes out. I have no pressing need.

Getting an iPad or a tablet in general there is never any pressing needs lol

What lines ? I pre ordered a wifi 64gb version at launch but decided I wanted an cellular and 128gb and went into the store a week later and got one.

I love my Air 2. I'm glad I didn't wait! The thing is blazingly fast, the screen is beautiful, and I'm very pleased with it.

There are always going to be this who prefer to wait- but you'll be waiting forever if you're looking for perfection. There will be glitches and trade offs with every new model of every device created by every manufacturer. That's just the way technology works.

If you have the money and you have the need, and the Air 2 does what you need a tablet to do, what are you waiting for?

Yes, the next one will be faster, and the one after that will be faster still, and and and... You'll wind up waiting for the Air 15...and even that won't meet with everyone's approval.

x2

I have had my iPad 4 just as long... I'm waiting for the next one before deciding.

This is good advice. Wait and see.

I was going to go from my iPad 3 to the Air 2, but the build quality was pathetic.

I will reserve judgement until I see iOS more than hardware. I'm not paying $1000 for a new tablet that can do nothing more than my current one except open Angry Birds 3 seconds faster. If Apple optimizes iOS for the iPad, I'll bite.

Mine is just fine.

Not specifically superior to my three earlier full size iPads, just a nice thinner and lighter model.

Now your overreacting and calling it pathetic ....,the vibration isn't a big deal nor is whatever screen distortion issues . I'm using my iPad normal like a normal human being and never have distortion issues.

I'm happy for you.

I bought and returned two of them. The vibration was annoying, but I would live with it. The first one had bad book spine discoloration, but did not have any distortion issues. I returned it and later bought another one which had some very slight bookspine, but distorted just by holding it like a "normal human being." I never even left the store. I showed it immediately to the Apple store employee who held (and replicated) the issue. She told another employee to check the display units. He came back about 30 seconds later and said (and I quote) "yeah...they all do it." The female employee offered to replace it and I said no and to just return the money to my account.

The distortion is NOT on every unit; my first one didn't have that issue, but it IS pathetic that there is that much variation with an issue that serious. The vibration is just an oversight in my opinion and no LED is perfect so I am okay with some uneven backlighting or slight discoloration, but my first unit had it bad.

Lol ? The screen issues have been an issue for like forever . And as far as distortion goes I've gone through 3 iPad Air 2's and none had normal use distortion.....I returned one because I wanted LTE and bigger capacity and another for random popping noises. You know what is pathetic...complaining about the book spine issues , yellow tinting and acting like its a new issue

And you're implying that your anecdotal evidence proves mine wrong?
I had a distortion issue, you didn't. I'm glad for you. Also, I acknowledge that no LCD is perfect, but I want to be happy with it when I pay $1,000 and I wasn't.

I voiced my opinion, you voiced yours. There really was no need to "lol."

Edit: and just because a problem "has been an issue forever" doesn't mean that it still isn't a problem that shouldn't be fixed.

There is no distortion "issue" ....stop pressing down hard and problem solved ....

I was holding it with my right hand like I do any tablet. The Apple Store employee held it too and acknowledged the issue. There was no excessive pressure, which is what surprised me.

What advantage would I have in making this up?

We've steered off topic. I apologize to the OP and will keep my silence.

I bought my Ipad Air 2 and its awesome.. no vibration issues... sound quality is awesome... defineletely an upgrade from my previous Ipad ...

I am in the same boat I have been waiting on my iPad 3. Currently it does everything I want it to do although it stutters and crashes due to low memory so you have be careful with it (no 11 tabs open).

I was going to get the ipad air 2 but the vibration and imperfect screens are scaring me. If I do wait for the next version, I doubt we will see much upgrade. What will it have that the Air 2 will not?

As for the iPad Pro, these are only rumors still

What imperfect screens ? iPads always had book binding. Yellow tinting issues and always will... I had three different iPad Air 2 and none had the issue with the pressure or whatever it is under true normal use. I returned one because I wanted higher capacity and LTE and another was that crackling noise

I have the Air 1 but I think I wouldn't upgrade again until we see a resolution bump
