What planet are you guys on??? The minute iPad 2 went online in the apple store my iPad 1 just stopped working. It just sits there

Ya, speeds are different. However, I think the only real reason that I got a 2 was because of the form factor. Because the 2 is much lighter it makes it a lot easier to read a book before bed by holding the iPad up over your head.

With the one you could get 64GB+3G for just $30 more than I paid for my 32GB Wi-Fi iPad 2. I think that Apple refurb is going to be the best bet while basically getting the quality of a brand new iPad.

honestly Apple is charging too much for the refurbished first generation iPad. As others have said these can easily be found on Craigslist for 1/2 of what Apple is charging

I bought a refurb iPad 1 from Apple for $349 about a month ago. You are saying there are iPads on CL for $175? I'm not seeing it.

I got my my first gen 32gb iPad Wifi + 3G from someone on Craigslist for $250.

I found out the previous owner extended the warranty because the 3G antenna was cracking. I took it to Apple, and they said it was absolutely covered under warranty. The guy took it in back, came out, and handed me a shiny new Refurbished iPad in plastic wrap.

Best Craigslist deal to date. It's the lowest I've ever seen. Ever. Period.

The refurbs on Apple.com are a great bargain regardless. I'm a cheap-o, so it's all about cost for me. The A5 chip, cameras, and a different housing aren't worth another +$250 to me.

I still have iPad 1, and have no complaints whatsoever. Love the thing.

My daughter is after me to upgrade, because then she inherits my 1.
