I always get a bit amazed after I buy a new Apple product. I am on this forum every day and read a lot of comments about manufactyuring problems. In 2012 for me it was the rMBP--I eventually got one from Amazon and it was perfect--at least to my standards. So this year it is an iPad--so off to the Apple store to get my new Air--again--looks perfect to me. And for me this is the same story for every Apple product I've bought. Maybe I am just not critical enough.

Maybe lucky, maybe not critical enough. :) If not for reading all the issues people have had here I would probably consider the screens on my current iPad Air and rMini "perfect". No IR, no back light bleeding and bright screens. But if I really look closely on a white background the left side of the screen on the Air and the lower part of the screen on the mini aren't quite as bright probably because of the new lighting and it is not an issue for me. Not noticeable in everyday use. However the first 3 Airs I got had yellowish-green tinted screens and I didn't have to come here to see that they weren't acceptable to me. I've also seen some in the Apple store with color shifts that I wouldn't want either. I still think most of the new iPads probably have good screens and the ones who received them aren't here commenting.

As long as it's policy, do WHATEVER you want.

I do refuse to believe that "luck" has anything to do with people that return 6 (or more) of the same product though, ESPECIALLY when they claim they have "seen" that elusive perfect model before. I am certain that with enough scrutiny they would definitely find a "flaw" with the "perfect" one too, they just need that image in their mind to strive for to justify the lunacy.

If you don't like the QC: DON'T BUY ONE. I am so tired of people acting like they have a gun to their head forcing them to buy/use Apple products, and how they "deserve" a "perfect" (screen, coating, shell, everything... etc.) because they spent money on it.

Again, it's perfectly ok to wreck a nice store policy. It's your right as a consumer. It's just ridiculous.

If you need to open more than 2, you are likely to NEVER be satisfied, and may as well look elsewhere. It's really ok. No one is telling you that you have to be happy, just that it's silly to open box after box looking for a unicorn that doesn't exist (at least to your standards). And cut the "my standards aren't that high"... they are, and Apple isn't meeting them. Time to move on.

It's really ok.

I wish apple would make a rule that a single person can get only so many replacements.

Gee, I must have been lucky enough to find a unicorn with all of the previous iPads I bought. I guess my luck ran out.

If this topic bothers you so much I think you should find someplace else to spend your time.
